I agree. It is too easy to "pad" your schedule to produce a winning record and be seeded into the district tourney. Earn you way. It's much more enjoyable when you win this way. sew? (sow)

Great game at "The Palace" tonight. Coach Floyd had all the right answers tonight. Cody Barker played a great offensive game. I spoke with Coach Morris and wished him God speed while abroad. He said he leaves Monday for training exercises. You will be in our prayers Coach Morris! I also ran into Little Cville tonight. It was great to see him!

My son's 6th grade traveling team wears traveling suits. Not the fleece sweat suits, which I don't like at all, but the nylon flannel-lined suits in the school colors. They look so nice walking into the gym and many times we have received compliments from the other coaches and parents.

Congrats Lady Lions and good luck in Richmond! The 16th will be pulling for you!

Wow what a game. This is much closer than I had expected.

for all who believe that quitting is wrong, how do you feel when a player that has quit is allowed back on the team? (i.e. Greenup Co. and now Russell) What message does that send to the other players and the community? Who gets the blame (or kudos) for the return of the player?

I agree with LLBC. When I was growing up, school sports was all the extra-cirricular activity available. Parents didn't have the extra cash to fund other social activities like they do today. And there are loads of social activity out there other than sports for our kids to enjoy now. (My father would not like my saying that, God rest his soul). Sports take an incredible amount of time each evening and some kids may just have other interests besides basketball, football and baseball/softball. Also, in KY we have this KERA system in place that promotes self-esteem. It teaches kids that yelling and getting angry are not the correct way to behave. Then they make a team where yelling and anger "build character" etc. I can see where kids of today would find that confusing. Don't get me wrong: I feel it is vitally important for kids to learn to work as a team. It is an important life lesson to learn.

I agree that Marla Gearhart is a good official. Is Linda Strong still reffing?

Yes Paul Lewis did have knee surgery but is recovering well. He reffed a Raceland boys game last week.

Good luck to Fairview next season. I like seeing small schools be successful. Ram must have been right on target and touched some nerves to have his posts deleted.
