  1. The students can still compete for individual awards. Just not for team awards.
  2. Jenkins was not down on the fumble recovery for a TD. Hand on top of the ball with the knee down on a fumble is not control. Had someone from ECU dove on the ball at that point they would have kept possession. As you could see on the replay, he did not actually scoop the ball and gain control until after he lifted the knee. The review crew got that one right.
  3. Job posting closes today. Waiting for another patented Madeline prediction.
  4. Where is Big Bubba when we need him?
  5. Name a team who does not have good talent that wins big.
  6. Late in the year for a full ride.....congrats though! Doesn't matter when...just the fact he is getting it. Good for him!
  7. It makes me sick thinking about gas prices. Makes you kind of scared to...thinking about the financial state of our country. What else are we getting ready to face? What other problems will we have to endure?
  8. Congrats to Marissa Adkins on an outstanding achievement. This freshman has started her career off in a very impressive manner. http://www.mid-southconference.org/article/344.php
  9. I think they will at least appreciate the work that he had laid out for the boys. He will be missed. :thumb:
  10. Sounds like you need to do less hunting and more helping with the program. Instead of being the person tearing it down...be the person building it up. :thumb:
  11. He never blamed anyone! You need to get your facts straight. He respected the job Corky Prater done at Lewis County and what he stood for. Some of things that were wrong with the program was greater then Corky. The community and parents are very appathic and didn't like the style of coach that coach Combs is. He had high expectations and demanded a lot of the kids. But the kids didn't no part of it...why? Because they are use to apathy. By no means is that the kids fault.....they had to learn it from somewhere. It's not in just the sport of Football but all sports....most or all coaches from there will tell you that. The good thing is there is a small group of parents and community members that want to change that aspect of Lewis County.....and as of right now they are on the right track. They need someone (head coach) to pick up where Coach Combs left off and continue the fight to get the kids to believe in theirselves and have pride in where they are from. As for Coach Combs he left Lewis County to better his family. It wasn't because of a record or because he was forced out, or to better his resume. He is a family man and when he took the job at Lewis County he had no thoughts of having children and now he will have 2 boys. He left college ball a few years back to be a better husband, now he left Lewis county so he could be a better father. You have to respect that. Good luck to Coach Combs and his family. Good Luck to Lewis County Football and their coaching search.
  12. Trusty may be worth a look. He almost got the Fleming job a few years back.
  13. How about Gary Kidwell? He started the football program back in the late 60's.
