  1. There are several schools that have policies regarding administrators being head coaches...you don't have to look very far to find them.
  2. I can assure you, as will several other posters, that I would post something untrue, nor would I abuse this message board by "posting false statements" relating to any topic, sports or otherwise. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, that I know Floyd well and if he were considering leaving Raceland, he would have called myself, as well as others, to tell us first hand.
  3. Just heard this today. My sources believe when all is said and done that Coach Dodd will be the next GC coach once the 30 day posting is over. Just throwing that out there. What do you think?
  4. The article is in today's Independent, however it isn't posted online yet.
  5. I don't remember saying "never", but I don't see him leaving for GCHS or Russell in the next few years. By that time, his kids will be very well rooted at Raceland and his wife will have 20+ yrs tenure. Those reasons on top of top notch support and co-coach of the year award, district championship as first year head coach and a top facility? What more could a first year head coach ask for. In his varsity head-coaching career, he has been named coach of the year 4 out of 8 years. ( 3 out of 7 years for softball and 1 for 1 in basketball)...pretty good stats imo. I've said before that I'd send my kids to the moon to play ball for Floyd.
  6. Since Mills is an administrator, does school policy rule eligible for a coaching position?
  7. Would Tackett leave the success he has had with the Lady Vikings?
  8. Way to go Ladies! Keep up the good work!
  9. Great job girls! Way to start off the season! Congrats to Clark, Meade and Sexton too!
  10. I also heard a month or so back, that Euton and Jackson were leaving,,,but they weren't the only ones. My source didn't elaborate and I didn't ask.
  11. I knew better than to think Floyd would give GC a fleeting thought.
  12. I have a funny story about "The Sound of Music". When the twins were about 2 (the terrible twos!), we lived in a split level home. The family room was downstairs and I realized that I hadn't heard them for a while. I went to investigate and they were watching The Sound of Music on tv. Ok, all is good. After awhile, they were STILL sitting quietly watching this show. It is about 3 hours long, soooo guess what movie Santa brought for Christmas that year??? That's right,,,The Sound of Music! It is still an all time favorite here at our house. Peter Pan runs a close second.
  13. My favorite is the Dallas Filet at Texas Roadhouse, Medium well with A-1.
  14. Can anyone elaborate on this? I have heard that Obama will not pledge the American flag. That alone bothers me some, but I also heard Obama say that he loves America. Is this contradictory? Is the Whitehouse the appropriate place for a man that won't pledge the flag? I admit I haven't researched any of this.
