  1. I understand there is a "no income tax" law for legal aliens that come here on work visas. I guess it is ok, for a short time, (say 3 - 5 years), but why hasn't a cap been placed on foreign doctors that come to America, benefit from our country, our insurance companies and stay forever because they don't have to pay income tax? Is there something I don't understand or perhaps just plain don't know? Does this seem odd to anyone else but me?
  2. Prayers for Kyle and his family. It took guts to fight back. Those same guts will pull him through!
  3. INCREDIBLE! Congrats to Lady Rams and to Trimble and Co. Wow, back to back championships and the trophy stays at Raceland! Way to go girls. We are so proud of you. I understand last year's seniors were bombarding this team's cell phones with multiple messages! Way to carry on the celebration! With only one senoir, this team has gelled tremendously despite illness and injury. Next season looks to be a very successful one as well.
  4. I believe York graduated a few years ago and is now playing for Georgetown. Raceland's VanHoose will be a force to reckon with on the mound. Kayla Blevins brings back everything a coach needs in a 3rd basemen.
  5. You're not OLD! If you are old, that means I am old, and dangit, I am NOT old...
  6. I'll take my Lady Rams in a close one. Russell beat them earlier in the season and they are hungry for a win and back to back district titles. They have stepped up their individual abilities in the absence of Hoof and with Hoof back in the lineup, they are a better team than when they played Russell in the regular season.
  7. Congrats to Coach Floyd and the Raceland Rams!
  8. Congrats to West on a big win. Good luck through districts and into regionals.
  9. Here's the link: http://www.dailyindependent.com/localsports/local_story_055004720.html As I've said many times, no one plays with more passion than Rach... We love you Rachael!:thumb:
  10. With Boyles and Barker both back, I give Raceland the edge. Rams by 7.
  11. gooch, are you still at the same school you were at last semester? I understood you were thinking of changing... good luck on the roommate problems. I think earplugs are a nice peaceful solution.
  12. Halley Cook is a sr. trainer for Lady Rams and was also honored last night. She has been with the team for several years. Congrats to the Lady Rams on a great win!
  13. Sometimes when I would be yelling for (as opposed to at) my twins, I'd get them mixed up and yell the wrong name. I knew who I was talking to, I'd just say the wrong name. Worse than that, sometimes I would be so into the game, I wouldn't even realize I yelled the wrong name and the other mom's would point it out! I know, I know, it is embarrassing.
  14. I definitely think EC will come back with a vengence after their loss to Mason County. Look for EC to top 100 in this competition winning by 50+.
  15. Homeless Camel is right. Our insurance covered only $500.00. The ortho also required a $800.00 down payment. Fortunately the grand total was only $2400 each for us. We planned well in advance and increased our flexible spending withdrawals. This way, we paid for the braces with pre-tax dollars. I learned to plan way in advance when the twins were still babies! Also, I got second opinions. One ortho wanted $4800 for one and $5300 for the other. I went back to the original ortho who had quoted $2400 each. Incidently, they were only one block apart in Ashland, KY, so the costs weren't based on location.
  16. There is a "permanent retainer" that you can ask for. My neice has one and doesn't have to worry about a retainer. Both my girls had braces and wore them for 18 months. The ortho told me a few months ago that he didn't think that my son would need braces. What a relief!
  17. I think the Industrial Parkway would be a good location for the Greenup/Boyd Co. area. Easily accessible from US 23 and from I-64, attracting both the Ohio and WV people. I know many, many people who travel hours to Ceasar's to gamble. I have mixed emotions about it being at my front door. If the horse track had stayed in Raceland many moons ago, this end of the state would be in far better shape today. Right Ram, Old Rambler and Cville?
  18. Sorry I had to miss this game. Great win for the Rams. Floyd is doing something right in Ramland. Keep up the momentum going into districts!
  19. Are there any hotels on that list down near Clearwater Beach?
  20. Did Russell schedule Elliott County and when did/do they play?
