Nice job OR, sounds like the Rams played everyone.

Raceland gets their 2nd win tonight over East to go to 2-0 on the season. I will compliment the East kids in that they did not quit. Raceland had them down 43-0 and the Raider kids kept playing hard.

 

Coach Vanderhoof got some valuble playing time for the backups/JV tonight having them play most of the 2nd half.

Raceland is still hurting themselves with penaties, they did vs. Ashland in game 1 and again tonight stopping themselves with mistakes.

B. Denton had 102 yards rushing (sorry, I didn't hear J.S. Carvers stats)

T Boyles was 12-20 passing for 224 yards.

 

 

On very bad stat was that Raceland had 9 penalties for 83yards. That imo has to be improved.

O.K. Rams, good job tonight. I am sure that there will be a lot of mistakes that the coaches will point out and work on this coming week in practice.

 

Never be satisfied, stay focused each week. Lets get ready for a good Fairview team at their place next week. First district game...the real season starts next Friday.

Raceland played well, the only thing that stopped it from being great was the penalties. Turnovers and penalties will cause good teams to lose. No turnovers tonight, that is a good thing, but the penalties have to be corrected.

 

Some younger Rams did get some quality time. Sophomore, Mike Litteral had some good carries. Sophomore QB Tyler Farley had some good completions. Sophomore Raph Burchett is going to be very good in the next two seasons. Freshman Marcus Reed got his first varsity carry for a very nice pick up. Laren Huffman had some quality defensive plays. Junior Cody Kelley looked impressive on his carries and on defense.

 

Brett Denton and John-Scott Carver delivered some big blows on offense. Boyles had some nice completions, I think he is settling in and taking his time. The entire Oline and Dline played well, much more aggressive. They are a strong unit (Grant, Logan, Jobe, Baldridge, Chinn) and the catalyst for the team, without them, nothing is possible.

 

East Carter never gave up and has some nice players. They just could not get things going. I am sure they will improve and have a good season. Good luck to EC in the remainder of the season.

Good job Rams on the win. Next week I hope you stay hungry. Because you better have a big appetite and pack a lunch. Its going to be a dog fight.

It was a 3 for 1 sell. Every now a then you got a 2 for one sell on touch downs. We had to score 3 times to get one counted. I didn't know what was going on. Like you said there were too many mistakes.

Another good win on the road for Raceland. Congratulations on surviving and working through the penalties...good teams can do that.

 

Three opening away games is a tough one...two down, one to go before getting back to the friendly confines of Ram Stadium.
