Congratulations to the Rams! It looks like this is going to be a special year.

It was a 3 for 1 sell. Every now a then you got a 2 for one sell on touch downs. We had to score 3 times to get one counted. I didn't know what was going on. Like you said there were too many mistakes.

 

It was the fact that the officials wanted to make sure East didn't get shut out, & also Raceland was already up big so they didn't want it to get worse, not to mention East leaving in the majority of their starters after Raceland's JV & Freshmen were in the game.

 

Realisticly, East would have never seen the end zone if the Rams' starters were still in the game. Coach Hoof will never run up the score on anyone, & the younger kids got (& needed) valuable playing time & reps. To East's credit, they played hard.

In all the years I've been going to Raceland games I don't think I've ever seen a shutout of the other team. Raceland coaches have always had to much class to do that to another team.

We all have spoken to the class of the coaching staff at Raceland, from Coach Hoof on down. Reallistically, the score was going to be atleast 65-0 or higher, but not when coaches think of the other team and our younger players. Everyone on the roster played and due to East not taking their ones off the field, got to experience true varsity play. Nice game guys and ENJOY THE PIZZA MONDAY!!!!!!!!:dancingpa

^ :thumb: Coach Vanderhoof is not going to run the score up on anyone. He has too much respect for his opponets and has had it done to him in the past. All that would accomplsh is taking a chance on getting one of your starters hurt in a game that is already decided and embarrassing the kids on the opposing team. I have seen a few coaches that I would love to embarrass but this game (h.s. football) is about the kids.

Raceland has always given respect to other teams in terms of "running up a score". Anyone who knows Randy Vanderhoof knows this characteristic just doesn’t happen by chance. The Rams are a class act from top to bottom.

 

Raceland has shut out other opponents though….circa 2006: Raceland 40 – Fairview 0; 2001 Raceland 28 – Fairview 0, and 1998, Raceland 37 – Fairview 0.

Painter you really can do your home work. But, I don't see a shutout this week. I just hope the Rams can make it a good game. The Rams will be the under dog. Fairview this year is a really good football team. The Rams will have to come out ready to play. Also the game is at Fairview. LCA just about got beat last year there. It took LCA in the last part of the game to pull a victory out.

All kidding aside, I look for this game to be a battle. If (there’s that word again) the Rams keep working hard and play like they are capable of, Fairview will have their hands full. I’m always reluctant to automatically call for a W when playing away from home, but Raceland has gained very valuable experience thus far in 2008. The Rams have twice now gone into enemy territory and came out victorious.

 

This is another one of those games which makes me wish I could be in two places at one time.

Don't underestimate my sandbagging abilities.

 

That stat is much better. See Raceland Fairview out scored us by 100 points in two year span. Defense has got be the biggest factor. Without a solid defense, we will see that same margin again. A high powered, multi directional offense will destroy you if you don't keep to your assignment.

With the way Jones is running the offense for Fairview and their defense keeps putting 0's on the board, how can we be favored? Two top 10 teams that are undefeated.....got to go with the home team being the favorite. I hope our defense comes to play and can keep them under 30 points. Can we score on a team giving up 5.67 points a game?
