  1. I don't think it will but you never know??? Patrick Towles has improved a lot over last year and last year he really didn't get the opportunity to play the QB position. I think it is silly to talk about this considering it's early in the season and playing freshmen vs JV or Varsity is a big step. I really like McCoy so don't get me wrong but Towles will be the QB next year if he keeps working hard.
  2. Highlands wins this one because they are taking the rest of the season one game at a time and will not overlook their opponent. Beechwood has a great tradition as well as Highlands but the talent on Highlands team is better than Beechwood's team this year. Please do not take this as a shot at Beechwood this is just what I see with the matchup for this game.
  3. I too have a great deal of respect for Trinity's program, I didn't see the final score until after I asked the question but I agree if you don't want to hear or read about Highlands get off the thread!!! I hope Kraigthorpe is O.K. and returns to the team soon.
  4. You saw what I saw and the ref was right there and didn't do a thing. I believe the rule is automatic ejection from the game. But I really don't want to harp on this and some other non calls. The game is over and Highlands played a good team in Manual, good luck to both teams this year!!!
  5. I believe you but they surely improved from the Ballard practice game.
  6. You are sooo wrong, we knew going into the game that Manual has a good defense. I was mostly surprised by the offense...the QB added a wrinkle to the game that surprised most of us. I think this weeks game with Ryle is going to be a good game. No more looking ahead, one game at a time!!!
  7. The scores could of been much worst...the back-up QB threw the ball ten times last year and was mainly used to hand the ball off. He also didn't play after the Scott game on offense, so I'd say Dale did the best he could to keep the games from getting to far out of hand.
  8. I'm going with the Breds in this one and hoping Kelly has a big night!!! I feel Dixie is still working on things and will get better as the year goes on.
  9. I understand that and I'm sure they are much better now and will improve as the year goes on. I am not the type of fan that believes 7 on 7 are a good indicator of how good of a team you are going to be. However it does allow you to evaluate whether or not you can pass/catch (timing) the ball. It also allows the defense to work on their coverages.
  10. No doubt in your mind but there is in mine!!!
  11. No problem...I do remember seeing Andrews and he is a talented football player!!!
  12. Well, what makes it legit...Ohio State( MAC coaches), WKU, Northwestern and UC coaches know its legit, they witnessed it!!!
  13. This is very unfortunate... one day at a time and wish for a speedy recovery. It's amasing what the doctors can do now a days focus on your rehab and work hard to get back by your senior year.
  14. Brandon will be the leader on the defensive side of the ball and I expect him to play TE as well. It's great to see him back on the field, you know he is always going to give you 110%!!! Great article and well deserved for the young Roller and the old man!!!
  15. Our prayers are with the Williams family and the Fort Campbell family as well!!!
  16. We wish this young man the best and a fast recovery!!!
  17. I mentioned it before and I really feel that this will be one of the best if not the best offensive line Highlands has ever had. They have four returning starters on the O-line, Schlosser, Grubbs, Combs, Roller or Welz if not both at TE's and they have talent to fill in the other two positions. It will be interesting to find out who will win the open starting spots on the O-line. To answer the depth question, this team has depth at the line positions O & D which is going to help against the big boys!!!
  18. I have been to several combines and I disagree with no Kentucky kids belonging on the list. I have seen several Ky. kids match up with the top athletes and more than hold there own. I think it is more exposure or lack of for the Ky. group of athletes.
  19. Not as good as last week to be honest but as L/N mentioned they had their moments. In defense of the D, Highlands would send two rushers many times and only have 6 in coverage. On D Mason county would have eight back in coverage and every once and a while send one rusher and still leave seven in coverage. Highlands was really mixing it up yesterday and I liked the double tight end formation.
  20. Bardo has been clocked as fast as 4.54 but that was during a practice run. Highlands still has a few holes to fill and I'm sure the coaches will fill the gaps because there is plenty of talent on the team. I think the O-Line will be one of the best Highlands has ever had with Schlosser, Grubbs, Combs, Roller, Welz, Dierig, Hahn, Schneider, Meyers, Beck. As I mentioned they have a lot to choose from and I'm sure I forgot a name or two. The receivers and running backs are a talented group as well. There is no I in team!!!
  21. Bardo ran 4.56 at the Ohio State camp, 4.57 at the Western Kentucky camp and 4.57 at Northwestern's camp.
