  1. Yes, during the 7 on 7 they used Miles as a wideout mainly because as you know there really isn't much for the backs to do.
  2. True we may only be able to assume...I know 7 on 7 is not a good indication of who would win the game but Highlands dominated SK during the 7 on 7 competition last year and I feel Highlands would have beaten Sk last year in a real game. Just my thought!!!
  3. Jared has been hired by Dale to coach Dale's way period. He will have the flexibility to go over his plan with Dale and they will agree (or Dale will) to handle the QB position as he seems fit. You wont have to worry about Jared giving motivational speaches this will be handled by Dale and Brian mainly with the other coaches helping were they can. I think this is a great hire for Highlands and something the team has been lacking for some time when it comes to teaching the fundamentals of the Qb position. I really like what I saw from John Hardin before the State game when the QB's were working on the basics before the game and not just throwing the ball long.
  4. Couldn't be happier for the kids, program and Jared!!!
  5. So would his fathers close friends!!!:thumb::popcorn:
  6. Congrats Hunts, Centre is getting a fine young man and a very good ball player. My gut feeling told me you would more than likely wind up at Centre. Hunter had several opportunities to play for other schools and his heart kept leading him back to Centre!!!
  7. Congrats to Nick and I wish him the best of luck. We met Nick at a WKU visit and he is not only a good QB but a nice young man and I am happy for him.
  8. And just a few shy of collecting your social security check, you don't want to mess this up with all the pay you can make as a HHS assistant.:isurrender::popcorn:LOL
  9. Trust me Jared can coach just fine and the boys really respect what he has accomplished and what he can bring to the table. I wish my son had more time with him because he did a great job coaching him. Jared knows what it takes to get to the next level and can help someone like Patrick achieve his goal!!! Good luck to Coach V and we appreciate everything he has done for our kids and the program.
  10. I'm talking freshmen ball next year, not varsity. Remember everyone is only one injury away from being replaced, competition is good.
  11. This decision really doesn't make any sense to me??? I'm not buying the baseball excuse, i can't see why 7 on 7 in June is a problem???
  12. I understand and I'm sure you know the situation alot better than I do. I think it would have to be a come to Jesus meeting with the players ,coaches and the young man. I'm sure the team would want an apology for some of the things that were said but, I would like to believe it could be worked out. Then again like you said he may not want to come back and play at Danville and it may be better to just move on. Hopefully he will not miss out playing his senior year.
  13. I hope your wrong if he decides to return to Danville. Kids make mistakes and I would like to believe Coach Harp, an adult, is a big enough man to let this young man play football for Danville if this is the only way he can play next year.
  14. Mac played QB 3rd/4th,5th and 6th grade. I believe he played some his 7th grade year as well. Unfortunately his 8th grade year he was over the weight limit which is why he played TE. I think this problem also helped him to become a better overall player.
  15. I agree Mac is a good receiver/TE but have you ever watched him play QB. He has a strong arm, smart kid and is very mobil. If Mac wants to play QB trust me he can compete for the QB position. I wish him the best of luck wherever he decides to play!!!
  16. Competition is good for all involved and if Mac does decide to go to Highlands that would be great. I'm not convinced he is going to end up at Highlands but if he did it would be good for all the HHS fans. My gut feeling tells me that if Mama wants him to go to NCC, he's going to NCC.
  17. The best QB I witnessed this past year in the FTJFL 8th grade was Drew Houlliston(sp). I would have to say he is the most experienced and seasoned coming out of the FTJFL and I beleive he has been playing QB for three or four years.
  18. Rockmom, Sweeperboy is just having some fun with you and the rest of the Trinity folks. I'm sure we are all looking forward to the scrimmage, it is going to help both programs in regards to finding out our pros and cons. I hope everyone comes and enjoys the day and both teams leave without any serious injuries.
  19. For those that feel the same as Tom, if Mike would not of been eligible to play in this game it would of been Jamie Hubbard running the ball against Bell County. Hubbard would have had the same results, if you don't think so ask Bowling Green, Hubbard was the MVP of the State game as the running back. (Not taking anything away from Mike, just my opinion)
