  1. Well said BG... Highlands should win this game big if they stay focused which I believe they will. With or without Patrick Highlands wins but if Highlands has to play McCoy to give Patrick some rest they are going to have to use him as a QB and that means he not only runs with the ball but he may have to air it out as well. Teams will load the box with him in the game playing run only so he must have the opportunity to throw the ball and keep the defense aware of pass or run.
  2. Two good ones, Billy went on to play at Morehead and George was a very hard runner for Boone County but I didn't know where he went to college. Billy went on to play DB in college and I think the starting QB for Morehead was Phil Simms when Billy was a freshman. Two different type of runners, George would run over you and Billy would make you look silly when you would attempt to tackle him.
  3. The University of Dayton has a very good aerospace engineering school which works closely with Wright Patterson Airforce Base. If his ACT scores are above 25 the the financial aid package is pretty good of course 27 is better and if he can get to the magic number of 30 or above he has a good chance of going to school with most of the cost being taken care of.
  4. I'll take Cov Cath in this one. Jc is not as strong as they were last year and I think Cov Cath matches up well with JC. Cov Cath by 7
  5. Qryche11, There are no conditions to adhere to and I know Whackem supports the program but I think the coaches know what they are doing. Compton was used sparingly during the Ryle game and with another week to rest he should be ready for round two of the playoffs. I think Dale will use him some this week just to keep him fresh but I don't think you'll see the starters or most of them in the second half of the game if not sooner. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few freshmen toward the end of the game as well. This team is a little banged up but they will be ready for their run at State!!!
  6. Ok OK I understand you were on the 98 team. I can appreciate your support for the team and I by no means am ever going to downplay the talent of one of the best Highlands team, we can agree to disagree.
  7. As talented as the freshmen group is Varsity ball and Freshmen ball are two different animals.
  8. The 98 and 07 teams had players going both ways, could you imagine if the 09 class would of been able to have some of the leaders of the team going both ways. Fortunately, there was no reason for it to happen, they did just fine with the two platoon system.
  9. The Streeter brothers both played in the Ft. Thomas Jr. Football League. The older brother attended St. X because his Dad had an apartment in Ohio and his Mom lives in Ft. Thomas. His Dad moved to California therefore he had to leave St. X and move back to Highlands, (where he lives) if he wanted to play football.
  10. Congrats to coach Warner and the Ryle players. They deserve to be number one right now but remember the only poll that counts is the one at the end of the year. Hopefully the NKY teams will be represented well!!!
  11. I agree, Clyde made some post last year that I didn't agree 100 % with but once I settled down and read his post again I understood where he was coming from and he never bashed the player he just expressed his opinion. This is one of the bad things about these sites ,sometimes the truth hurts and we don't agree with posting it in public once we know our kids already feel bad about what happened. Like it or not, it happens just move on or do what I did and get away from the site for awhile
  12. I'll be there, I thought about sitting on the couch and watching the game but I don't want to wake up to a for sale sign in the front yard tomorrow morning!!!
  13. Qryche11, I agree Austin has done everything asked of him by the coaches and he has been a great role model for the team. His leadership has been noticed by the coaching staff and this is why he is a team captain. My hats off to this young man he gives it everything he has!!!
  14. I agree, Dale knows what he is doing. Support our team, they will be just fine!!!
  15. There's more to life than football. Adam is obviously an itelligent young man who is considering his educational choices as well. By the way Valpo is Div. 1 fcs just not bcs.
  16. I hope not... I don't care how good the team may be or will be in upcoming years, you don't want to bite off more than you can chew. Highlands has a very good program but they are not big or deep enough to play a lot of Cincy schools in one season. Highlands has tried this before without much success.
  17. Adam visited Dayton and really seemed to enjoy it but I knew he had interest in Valparaiso so good for him. He would have made a good Flyer as well!!!
  18. Good luck to Adam with choosing Valpo, I know he wants to study engineering and he has picked a good engineering school.
