I'm sure there will be plenty of people to hand out candy but the safety of the kids should come first. I think it's POOR planning on the city's part and I really don't understand why the times keep changing every year or every other year???
OK both of the young men are exceptional atheletes and have the potential to play at the next level if they continue to work hard. VanSant has what most colleges are looking for in size, speed and good football instincts. Roller is big enough to play college ball and is not as fast as VanSant but I'll take Roller any day. He is one of the best and smartest football players I have ever been around and I really enjoy the way he plays the game. They say speed kills but I've witnessed SOME players that can just play the game and have a knack for being around the ball and involved in the play...ROLLER!!!
As much as I would love for this to happen I really don't think Dale will let him play. I know he asked at the beginning of the year to play JV so that he could get in some reps at QB. Dale didn't want him to play then but you never know with Dale???
I know Dale may think they are adequate at this point but my hats off to the offensive line, they get better every game. Good job Dempsey, Schlosser, Combs, Bargett, Martin, Roller, Newman and Welz!!!
Maybe I misunderstood what he was getting at, mainly the last part of the last sentence. So let me say that if it was a running clock or not, playing a half of RUNNING clock football against the number ones and then turning around the next day and playing JV is not as easy as some may think!!!
With that being said good luck to Cov Cath's JV!!!
The score remained that way in the second half because they didn't do much offensively except run the ball with the running backs. If Highlands wanted to run the score up more they could have but whats the point!!!
On the freshmen level I'm surprised Towles didn't get the opportunity to throw the ball. Maybe it was because of the score being out of control and they didn't want to run the score up more. Regardless I'm told it's nice to have this problem!!!:dancingpa
Good work ROCKS, I for one would much rather give a player reps on the JV rather than having them stand on the sidelines during the varsity game. The only way to get better is to play!!!
Good post DMZ76,give this young line some time and everything will be fine. I think everyone has to give some credit to Rlye's coaches and players for their preparation for the game. If you watch the film Ryle knew where we were going to run the ball and they executed defensively, as L/N stated by sending or having 8 in the box.:fight:
