  1. It's a big deal when this happens to any player. In this case it hits home because he is not only a candidate for Mr. Ky. Football but it's his senior year and this kid wants to play at the next level. Josh will be back this year whenever the doctors release him, it's just dissapointing for him to have this happen at this time. I understand about the team concept but it is a big deal and yes Highlands will be Highlands with or without one player. This player is special and we are looking forward to his return!!!
  2. It's about time the bluebirds came out of hiding!!! I expect this to be a close game with the birds pulling it out by a TD. The Fort Thomas kids will enjoy playing against each other again, nothing like a Highlands vs. NC game in my mind. Bring back the rivalry like the good old days of the 70's and part of the eighties. Dale and Bob need to get together and make this happen or wait until Bob retires and hopefully the other coach will want to rekindle the fire!!!
  3. I'm not a coach but my guess is that they already have enough very athletic guys at WR and think he can help the team more at DB.
  4. It's tomorrow GuRu, where is the 5A preview??? :dancingpa
  5. Congratulations to the Academic All-State Teams!!! It quite:dancingpa an honor not only to excel on the field of competition but in the classroom as well!!!
  6. :thumb: I agree, your QB looked very smooth yesterday.
  7. L/N, actually Bardo did get to play QB after you left. He had several series yesterday and threw the ball well. Both QB's look very good during the 7 on 7's that we have seen so far. As for the 7 on 7 passing yesterday I really was looking forward to reading about how the teams matched up and how this player did well or some constructive criticism... Not the case after reading some of gorocks9 remarks and then calling out a player and asking if he were on the field??? Hey gorocks9 if you don't have anything better to say about the game do me a favor and keep your immature remarks to yourself!!!
  8. Yea right, lets move up three classes because two is not enough!!!:fire:
  9. Yes, Bardo ran the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400. Highlands qualified 7th in the 4x100, 3rd in the 4x200 and 1st in the 4x400 in the State Finals.
  10. Make that involved, sorry a little excited this morning.
  11. Ru, No one envolved with the Fort Thomas Junior Football League would ever bash the NKYFL we just have a difference of opinion as to how we want to keep ALL the kids envolved with the sport. Before Dale Mueller became the head coach of Highlands football, as Boom mentioned we were in the NKYFL, I believed Highlands had years with as few as 30-40 players. This of course translated to fewer number of people qualified to play certain positions. Highlands now has at least 4-5 players competing at each position instead of 2 which in turn has generated competition within the team. Now it becomes the Highlands coaches responsibility to put players will they think the player will excel and help the TEAM. I know personally that the coaches love having the numbers at each position and now our numbers are approaching 80-100 (if not more) players involved in football at Highlands.
  12. Ru, The 7th and 8th grade do play competitive ball the only difference is that all 7th and 8th graders get to play ball not only a select few. I think the past four years of freshmen ball indicate the process is working just fine!!!
  13. As acurate as this may be, L/N please get your snack and nap in today I hate to see you so upset like this!!!:fight:
  14. I really don't understand the logic when the coach tells the MVP of the state championship (undefeadted) team that he will not play QB during the game. No explanation just go over and play defense... I understand the outcome of the game now!!!
  15. I'm not sure who will be in the positions when the season begins but you have Roller, Laber, Alford, Newman, Bankamper that can play inside backers and Hogue, Martin, Roller(if not inside) Turner, and Abner that can play outside. I agree with F/T, Head would fill in where Simon played last year. In other words HHS has a lot of options.
  16. I agree!!! Last years seniors are a very tight group that lead by example...This years seniors to be need to put this question to rest and until they do, we still have a few ???
  17. Congrats Drew, you will be missed and good luck at Western Carolina!!!
  18. He will be one of the best linebackers ever to come out of Highlands!!! This kid is tough, athletic and very knowledgeable about the game of football.
