I hope other players take note in what Jake Turner has done for the TEAM. This kid moved back to QB to help his team after a broken collarbone sidelined the other QB. He never questioned the move and without hesitation jumped at the opportunity to play because he knew the TEAM needed him. Jake put his team mates first and I applaud his efforts!!!

Bredman, Talk to the head coach, NCC should be playing HHS, Camp. Co., Cov Cath, Sk and whoever they can play to give them a game. If you want to get better play better teams!!! I see a lot of last name that played when I played ball up on the hill and we had some of the best talent in state which is why I am not surprised with the recent success.

Best of luck to Jake Punch and I hope for a speedy recovery from his ACL injury. I hate to see this injury with any kid but when your a senior it hurts a little bit more. Highlands was fortunate to pull this victory out today...Too many mistakes which must be corrected if they plan on playing for the championship. Cov Cath is a better team than their record shows and they will get better each week.

Mexitucky, Timmy O was a very good QB for NC during the 75 and 76 football season. Timmy was a three sport athlete which is hard to find these days because of the competition or parity in sports now a days. If a kid wants to be one of the best in his sport he almost has to dedicate himself to one or maybe two sports.

All of the HHS linebackers have been mentioned except one, Roller! I know he is young and still maturing but, this kid can play the game of football. He is football smart and is only going to get better each game!!!

bluethunder, I agree and you are correct about the play which went to Trey for a score in the third quarter, I think.

Clay didn't play early in the game because he has been sick all week. Tony did a good job filling in for him but you have something else to think about with Clay in the game.

I think your right about Cecil...The refs threw a lot of late penalties which I think were very questionable!!! I'm not taking anything away from Dixie, I just didn't like the late flags after the Dixies coaches complained!!!

L/N, Peter Bardgett did have a good game and after reviewing the tape Nick Martin, Oliver Head and David Hogue played well defensively as well.

Highlands came out a little sluggish in the beginning of the game. Not making any excuses but I think the kids were a little worn out from the big game the night before against Trotwood. Withrow has the best JV team we will see this year. Highlands JV numbers are pretty slim with a lot of kids going both ways and I believe this became a factor as the game went on. Competition is good and a loss like this to an Ohio team will prepare us for the remaining schedule. Clint Crawford scored the first TD on a good run, Nick Buten had Two TD catches and David Hoge had the other. Oliver Head had several good runs and the line made some adjustments that created problems early in the game. Jake Turner seemed to be all over the field, Brian Beck and Hunter Schlosser provide pressure on a very good QB. Our kids continued to play hard, I just believe we ran into a very good JV team.

There are a couple of things that #46 has going for him that you have to be impressed with, size and speed. This young man will be just fine. I know L/N mentioned it earlier in a post about #46 playing out of position on offense which I agree with. Defensively, although I felt Trey Jurgens did a great job against him, he can cover some ground and contained the outside on several plays against some fast kids. Good luck #46 this year and throughout your college career.

DMZ76, I would likt to add Trey Jurgens to your list, he played very well against a highly regarded player, #46 for Male. He is also the best long snapper I have seen at the high school level!!!

3ptshooter, I agree with you about running your mouth on the field and I'm sure the coaches have said something to him about this. Luke is a good enough player and he will speak with his pads. I'm not making excuses but the kids see the pro's doing this kind of crap on TV and think its the right thing to do.

I talked to Josh most of the scrimmage and he is happy to be at Ludlow. I asked him if he missed Highlands and he said he did but Ludlow is a good fit for him. As long as he is happy, thats good enough for me. He wanted to talk to his friends after the game and let them know that they played a good game. He also is looking forward to playing Beechwood this year and feels that Ludlow has a good chance of beating Beechwood (which is what we want all of our player to think). I have been around Josh during football season ever since he was in the fourth grade and can say that he has a special talent that few kids have. Good luck Josh, I know you will have a special year this year and next!!! Another thing that impressed me was that coach Dale Mueller stopped by to talk to Josh and wish him well but also let him know that we missed him.

greyche11, 55 is Stein...If I were a fan of the other team I wouldn't like Stein either but, I'll take his type of play and leadership for our team anytime!!!

L/N, Thank God they timed you in the 40 when you played or you may not have made it to the next level...Is that where the movie title "The Flying Leathernecks" comes from?

Highlands Assitant head coach Brian Weinrich will be a good head coach in the near future. He is also the Defensive coordinator for Highlands and played wide receiver when he played football. This guy loves the game of football and does a wonderful job getting the kids ready to play.

Clay is a true leader!!! He remembers the good times of 2004 and wants to do everything he can to make this team a championship team. The senior class is a special group of kids that want another Championship Ring!!!
