Bluetothebone
I know this will be a test for the Birds, Will this also be a test for Lou Male?
jbwill2
Given that HHS has a lot of returning starters and I believe that Male lost a lot of talent from a strong 2006 squad, it should be a much better scrimmage than it has been for the last two years, which saw Male winning by multiple scores. I wouldn't be surprised if HHS pulls off the win.
Charger1
I wouldn't be surprised to see Highlands win this either. Male is going to be down somewhat this year. Male will still be very good, but they aren't as strong as usual.
ochenta siete
If HHS plays to what they are capable to, the could pull out a huge win for this team. Where and what time is this scrimmage being played???

CentreRocks
Highlands will win this fairly easily. Birds by 14-20.
THUNDERBIRDS
It will take Highlands a little time to adjust to the speed as usual. And i mean adjust, Highlands may be fast all around but they will not have the team speed that Male brings to the game. Last year was a great example of it. The Male backs were running circles around Highlands in the first half and pretty much did what they wanted. The second half was a totally different game, along with the obvious conditioning factor. Highlands will be fine, these types of scrimmages give Highlands a measuring tool for who they will see with that type of speed during the year. The only other team that they will face with that kind of speed is Trotwood period!!!
H
I'll be surprised if Highlands doesn't "win" easily. Male lost about 80% of its starters from last season, including Mr. Football and their starting QB. The Bulldogs will be solid later this season, but I think it will take some time to sort out the pieces.
BlueBoy
You guys are killing me with this HHS will win "easily" talk. Are you serious! Male is Male just like HHS is HHS year in and year out. I would love to see HHS win but I'm not going out on a limb and saying they will easily win. Now on the JV and Freshman level, then maybe. Because they have in the past which I don't get. Question - Was that Highlands starting offensive line this past Friday?
OldCamelNewBird
Question - Was that Highlands starting offensive line this past Friday? Answer - Yes, 4 of which have never played offensive line before. This is not too unusual since the HHS state champ team of 2004 had 4 linemen who were in the same situation. The thing is, a couple of these guys hit a little harder.
That's Pat
The Birds are really going to put a show on this Friday night. Look for another high scoring game like last year, but the Birds will be doing all the scoring!!! 64-
75center
I'm seeing some pretty outrageous predictions on here. Hope the weather cools down a little as I'd like to go up and see this one.

It looks like the whether may cool down a bit. Low 90's or if we're lucky upper 80's. However, it seems that anytime Highlands and Male scrimmage the weather goes haywire. From extreme heat to freaky lightning storms.:scared:

Question - Was that Highlands starting offensive line this past Friday? I'm with you brother. Highlands winning "easily"? Come on, let's get back to reality. It is intestesting to note that most (if not all) of the folks making that prediction are not Highlands fans. Male is an excellent program. Although they lost a lot of starters, they'll reload and by the end of the season, I'm sure they'll be fine. If we have an advantage over them, its the number of returning starters we have coming back. But even that's somewhat misleading. For this scrimmage, we'll have two for sure full time returning starters on Offense (Conner and Hempling). Cecil will sit again this week which means Guidugli at the helm. We have 4 new starting o linemen and a new starting running back. The tight end is a new starter. Depending on whom starts at the receiver positions, we may have some returning experience there, but at this point, I'm not sure who will start at the receiver positions. At the end of the day, I think we'll be as inexperienced on O as Male is. I predict a low scoring scrimmage. On D, we are in better shape particularly at the lb position. One returning defensive back, but the other two are new starters. All the d linemen are new starters also. Fortunately our defense is predicated on the lb play. Don't get me wrong, I think Highlands can beat Male in the scrimmage if the kids play up to their potential, but as for winning easily; I don't see that happening. But I sure hope those folks making such predictions are right:D.
rltrace
Can't speak for HHS but this is Male they lose a ton of talent every year if you don't believe it look at the Uof L roster. Dexter Heyman is an absolute stud.
