I think those who questioned Guidugli starting over Bardo last year should rethink, but happy to get a W.

That didn't take long.

C'mon, it was his first game. Yes, the pre-game/season hype about him was a little over the top. Why not wait and judge him after a few more. He may live up to that hype in the end.

I believe so too, but lets just say the right guy started last year

We'll never know.

No reason to hit the panic button Bird fans.......Going into the Ville and playing a very respectable team at home and getting the W is nothing to be worried about....it just shows there is work to get done, and Dale is the master of getting it done......and he will. Good win BIRDS. Get to work ASAP, and show em what you got next week.:thumb:

Well, the team won a state title. That's all that matters, and I have no doubt Bardo will lead us to another.

Its only the first game of the season for both teams. I'm sure they both will address their areas of weakness and improve upon them as the season progresses. The passing game will be straightened out at Highlands I'm sure. We are talking about Highlands here.

Great D by Highlands tonight. Thats something positive to look upon.

Come on, guys... let's not get into a fight about who should have been QB for HHS last year... they won the state title last year, enough said.

Clearly, HHS has a lot of work to do in order to compete for the state title. This game seemed a bit similar to the Ryle game at the start of last year. HHS needs to get to work, since they are playing a very good Ryle team next week. And if Highlands wants to stay in the same ballpark as Cincy Saint X in a few weeks, they are going to have to get a lot better on both sides of the ball. They have a bunch of hard-working kids and great coaches... I think they are up to the challenge.

The Highlands players and coaches need to get to work and iron out the rough edges.

Congrats to Manual for a hard-fought game, and congrats to Highlands for the road win.

Go 'Birds!

PS On a final note, it seems the CardinalsFan was dead on when he scoffed at so many people predicting a huge Highlands blowout.

Got back from the game.

This is my first time seeing Highlands in person and I will tell you the thing impressed about them was how little fat there was on the team. Your program and coaching staff should be very proud of how fit a team you put on the field. I also thought they played with a great deal of class, which I feel is another testament to your coaching staff.

I knew our offense was not going to look pretty in this game and the turnovers and penalties showed that to be the case. This Manual offense will get better over time, the improvement I saw from the first quarter to the fourth tells me that we can become okay. I still don't think we have enough weapons to be a great threat but we may not need them.

I was very happy with our defense, especially our linebackers I really thought they did everything they could to keep us in this game. Manual always has good defenses and Highlands fans who expected a 50 point game were simply not appreciating the task ahead of them.

It was one of those games you leave wanting to see a rematch later in the season when both teams are playing a little cleaner.
