Beechnut

Beechwood's reserved seats are only good for the regular season home games. After that, 'festival seating' prevails. Most folks still sit in their reserved seats out of habit, but they have no claim over them if they should arrive and find the seats occupied.

I just would like to know what you mean. I didn't see any bad behavior by any fans, except on the field, by both teams AND the refs.

Congrats Dayton, on a fine season. Hold your heads high. I agree with Beechwoodfan....The score definately didn't indicate the level of play on the field. Tigers, get your claws out. Step it up and get it done! No woulda, coulda, shoulda....JUST DO IT.

One of my sons played all three, until his senior year. He sat out of basketball. I believe he really missed it. Someone said in an earlier post that there will be down time in between to really 'push it' in the weight room. I beg to differ. There was usually NO down time for him. One sport flowed seamlessly into the next. He would complain about being tired, but it was HIS choice to be there and he really enjoyed all three. (And his grades were better when he had less time...better management of that time) Ultimately, it is HIS choice. It's his life and his memories in the making.

I think we have to consider with tomorrow being Halloween that maybe the spirits are running amok...... Just kidding. Everyone deserves an opportunity to share their opinion. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Any comments about officiating last night? Seems like there were alot of bad/missed calls on both sides. Heard some chatter that the crew wasn't who we were supposed to have last night. Anybody?

Ok, that's pretty big! But, I would have to say that pound for pound, pretty close to our guys. (excepting the lt at 305. I don't think we have anyone over 300lbs.)

Good luck to everyone! Dress warm and make sure the top layer is plastic!!!! Is HC's line really larger than BW? Ours is pretty big, so I'm surprised if this is the case.

Would that be the Tigers and the Colonels? That would be because all the boys have grown up together, played youth sports together and the parents are all friends. (or related, it IS Northern Kentucky!)

Agree fully! Let's hope all get/stay healthy and we get to witness a fine game!:ylsuper:

Well, I suppose I'm partial to my Tigers. They're pretty big! It is definately the most 'thankless' of positions.

My bad. The school announcements today say the game is at 7 p.m.

7:30 Saturday at Newport.

Any idea on how we (the general public) influence the scouts enough to change their ways? Linemen are near and dear to my heart, but I don't want them risking lifelong injury and health for a few 'glory' years in high school and hopefully, college. I agree that speed and technique should override heft.

Should the "Joe debate" be a separate thread???? Just wondering...... Go Tigers!!!!

The game was exciting to watch, even tho the score might say otherwise. The Tigers Defense did a great job, and the O managed as best they could against the blitz. Seemed like every play, Alter had 15 defenders for each of our O-line. This game is over....now let's just work hard for next week! GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

Does Alter still have that 'petite' girl on the line? I don't think she saw any playing time during our game last year, but she may be a junior this year and be seeing some time. I think she was near 300 lbs. This is going to be their toughest challange to date. I hope they rise to the occasion.

Going to be thinking positive thoughts for Brent and the family.

Have to stay mentally tough. A few years ago, we thought this game was a cakewalk, and LLoyd handed it to us, and deservedly so. Can't let that happen again.

Congratulations Tigers! Congratulations Coaches! Nice way to begin the year and a new era. Keep working hard. It's paying off!

It's been too quiet about this game. Close, it will be, but I think the Tigers are MORE than ready to claw their way to victory this week!!!! Let's get it going!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

The Northern Kentucky Baseball Community has lost a long time friend this morning. Tom "Mo" Morris passed away this morning. Too new to know any details, but will keep you informed. A moment of silence, please.....

How 'bout Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days"

Congrats to Lex Cath on a fine season and great final game. Love and Best Wishes to my Tigers! Thanks guys! You make us proud! I just received a call from an Athletic Booster...There will be a reception for the team Monday night at 7:30 at school. All BGPers are cordially invited. Come on out and show your support!

I wish they would keep the pitch speed up on the board for longer than a half-second. You had to either watch the board or watch the pitch, but you couldn't do both and catch it! We had a 'rotation' going with the people I was sitting with all week...that way we could stay informed!
