We've lost a Gem

The Northern Kentucky Baseball Community has lost a long time friend this morning. Tom "Mo" Morris passed away this morning. Too new to know any details, but will keep you informed.

A moment of silence, please.....

T Mo was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease a while back. Tommy will be missed. Love ya buddy....

He brought so much to the game of baseball in NKY. From coaching at HHS, Newport, St. Henry to coaching all his summer teams. He loved the kids and loved the game. A sad, sad day.

I just heard that they think it may have been a heart attack.

He was a great guy, and the Colonel family will miss him...

Definitely a sad day for the entire Northern Kentucky baseball community. Had the pleasure of playing for Mo in knothole and he was definitely in it for all the right reasons. He will be missed.

Tom was a great friend and a great person. He was my father's assistant at HHS and also coached (at least) one of my brothers in little league football. He was always kind and soft spoken in my presence, and a fun person to be around.

But what stands out the most is the love he had for coaching and for the kids who played the game. The only time I can remember the sound of rage in his voice was when he thought a team (or an individual kid) wasn't getting fair treatment or the opportunity to succeed to the best of their ability.

The NKY community -- this city -- the kids -- will miss you. I will miss you...

MO was a great person. I am glad i had the chance to know him. He will be miss no doubt about it. Hearts are heavy in Newport for a great person and coach.

The Kentucky Colonels are in Notre Dame this weekend playing in a tourney. They have written Mo on their caps in his memory. They found out on the way to their second game. A lot of good words being said about Tom here in South Bend. He has been a good influence on many of these kids.

A sad day for Northern Kentucky Sports.

Tom Morris was one of the good guys, very popular with his players, who devoted his life to the youth of Fort Thomas and all of Northern Kentucky.

Twelve years on the Highlands High School staff and twelve at Newport.

Presently assistant to Walt Terrell with the Kentucky Colonels and St. Henry Crusaders.

He will be missed!!!

Tommy will be missed. Had a chance to be coached by him and coach with him. Tom was always there whenever a player or coach needed his advise. Always looking out for the kids.

I know Tom inspired my older brother to coach in such a fasion, it almost looks like Tom is trapped inside his soul. You touched our family in so many ways than one. We will miss you dearly Tommy(MO)

For anyone who would like to attend:

Visitation will be this afternoon (Mon.) from 4-8 p.m. at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Church in Fort Thomas.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

I had the pleasure of meeting him last summer. What a great guy and outstanding coach! One of the funniest guys I've met. He will definitely be missed.
