Reserved seating for playoff games?

Featured Replies

Is there a rule on this? I have heard some different things. In other words, is anyone able to reserve any seats for playoff games or is it first come, first serve?

The reserve seat ticket holders have until Wednesday to purchase their seats. After that they go on sale to the general public. I'm pretty sure that is how it works at Trinity.

Ashland always offers their season ticket holders the option to buy their reserved seats for the playoffs. I can't imagine a school doing it any differently.

I have heard in the past there are prohibitions (by the KHSAA I assume) that do not allow any seats in the postseason to be reserved. It may be bad information, that is why I am asking.

Anyone?

I am pretty sure from my past experience that the local policies prevail even in playoffs. The only way KHSAA would, I think, get involved, would be if the quantity of reserved seats were such that the visitors had no shot at getting admitted. Most high schools, even those that sell reserve, don't have a large quantity, its just a "protected" location from what I am told.

Beechwood's reserved seats are only good for the regular season home games. After that, 'festival seating' prevails. Most folks still sit in their reserved seats out of habit, but they have no claim over them if they should arrive and find the seats occupied.

If the past two games at Beechwood are any indication of their fan base they will not have anywhere to sit by the time they show up. I am just glad the weather forecast is good so they will show up? It is very discourageing for the players to see the opponents w/more fans there to cheer against them at their own field no matter who they are playing.

They will all come if they get to the Pizza Palace, jump on that band wagon!!

I think beechnut is correct, first come first serve.

Thank you, that is the information I was looking for.

I re-read the KHSAA playoff regs, and it only says schools should "discuss and agree on" things like allocation of reserved seats and ticket prices. So the KHSAA probably wouldn't get involved unless the two ADs couldn't agree.
