Music help please

Featured Replies

Once again I am in need of help in coming up with music...this time for a baseball video. I've got Centerfield, Take Me Out to the Ballgame, I am the Greatest and Cheap Seats. Now I am looking for music that would be good "background" music, not necessarily about baseball, just would fit segments about hitting, fielding and so on. Anyone got any suggestions?

How 'bout Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days"

Please resist the temptation to use any AC/DC selections.

Jim, I am resisting that at this point, but as the deadline looms near and I can't come up with other options, weakness will prevail and I may have to break out some AC/DC!

"Mrs. Robinson" by Simon And Garfunkel

"Talkin' Baseball" by Terry Cashman

"Start Me Up" by Rolling Stones

"Tennessee Flat-Top Box" by Johnny Cash

"Lookin' Down The Barrel Of A Gun" by Beastie Boys

"A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request" by Steve Goodman

"Runnin' On Empty" by Jackson Browne — perfect for when the opposing team has a meeting on the mound

"Substitute" by The Who — could be used when making a pitching change or other player substitution

"Again" by Alice In Chains — instead of using lame old AC/DC songs, this song can be used as a substitute. It has that loud, high-speed crunching guitar, and has always been a great motivating song for me.

"Verb: It's What's Happening" by Moby — off the excellent "Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks!" collection, it has a high-speed dance beat with the catchy refrain "I get my thing in action" that could be used during rallies, etc.

"Dixie Chicken" by Little Feat

"Unchained" by Van Halen

"In The Club" by 50 Cent — that bass line is simply too good; this tune can be used anywhere (in its clean version, 'course).

"Dance To The Music" by Sly And The Family Stone

"Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie

"Suffragette City" by David Bowie

"And the crowd goes wild" by mark willis maybe?

Please no. That song is awful, and it never gets any better after hearing it at nearly every HS sporting event I go to, which occupies about 5-6 nights a week.

Cotton Eyed Joe, uhmm We will Rock You. If all else fails there's always the Chicken dance (just kidding)

Then again you could always go metal with the memory remains:ylsuper:

Good suggestions.....all....even the "Chicken Dance" could be a moment of levity with the right film...although I don't think I'm going there. If anyone else is doing a video of baseball and needs that ha-ha moment, there is a song called "Third Base Coaches' Dance" that will be funny with the right film. I went to i tunes and typed in baseball but alot of the stuff is stories or pro-team specific songs. That being said, it is really helpful to get suggestions from here. What I am finding is that LOTS of people do football highlights but not so many baseball highlights.

I have done baseball & softball highlights before. Many of the same songs can apply and fit nicely if they editing is nice and tight! Good luck! :thumb:

But please, ... for the sake of the kids, .... no chicken dance!!!!

"A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request" by Steve Goodman

Wow! You & I may disagree on a lot of things, but I can see that you are, indeed, a man of culture!

"Have Keith Moreland drop a routine fly...." ;)

Had a Bad Day by Daniel Powter , It is the song that they played this year when a contestant was voted off of American Idol.

Please resist the temptation to use any AC/DC selections.

Yes AC/DC Great baseball music
