  1. A better Beechwood team better show up than the alien one that was on the field the first quarter last night. Can't be underestimating any team now. It's playoff time and it's all business. Good blocks, full tackles and a complete knowledge of where you should be, (and where everyone else is, too) is in order. That's how victories are earned. I challenge my Red and White Tigers: EARN IT!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
  2. Exciting game to watch. Just goes to show the game is never really 'wrapped up' when these two teams play. Crazy stuff always seems to happen. Congrats NewCath and best of luck in your quest to Louisville. Appeared to be a very 'sportsman-like' game. Fans and players alike. Thank You All. Any word on how the injured ref is? No one around me saw what happened, just noticed late that he was down. Hope all is well. From here on in, the fun begins. Back to business, back to basics. As some now-famous Beechwood Parent Cheers go, "Block for the Runner", "Hit Somebody", and "Wrap them up and Bring them Down"!!!!!! Go Tigers!
  3. I've been around awhile and don't remember any scores being 'run up'. I would think that no current player would, either. So, I say the players are just looking for a good game and not taking anything for granted. They all know that they have to be their sharpest, and well-oiled machine.
  4. Wow! Everyone is just so profound! Truly brings a tear to my eye and lump in my throat. Tonight may be it for alot of seniors. This isn't the end, just a start to another chapter of your lives. May your memories of your playing years last a lifetime! Best of Luck in the future.
  5. The majority of the Beechwood team came up thru the NKYFL Spartans. They are also allowed to join the Beechwood Freshman team as 7th graders. Hence, many learn 'the system' at a young age. (Not to mention those that have older sibs that have been around for ages. It's a kind of osmosis.)
  6. Ok guys... Today's the day. No postings for 2 days. We need to go TTT with this thread! Should be a very festive atmosphere at the 'Wood tonight. Senior Night, and Support the Troops activities. Good Luck to all!
  7. Thanks so much, Jeb, for a GREAT post. Brought a tear to my eye. It's not just the seniors who are ending an era, as alot of families around here are graduating their last player after a long line of players. During the 12 years that mine have played, you don't think it will ever end. Now it is, and I just don't know what life will be like now.....Friday nights will just not be the same. Oh, we'll still go and support the team, but we might actually get to choose to take a night off if it's cold or raining........
  8. Amen to that! This game will be so physical for both sides. Please be careful out there, and remember the next few weeks are what REALLY count! Good luck to all!
  9. Anyone know the long-range weather forecast? Seems every time we've traveled to Bellevue, cold drizzly conditions are the norm! Asking for a crisp, clear, pleasant evening!
  10. As for the 'lead guy', I've only seen 2 broadcasts, and am wondering if you mean Wes Wright. Wes is a Dixie Grad of '78. I've been really impressed with the quality this year. Picture is pretty crisp, and it looks like the 'big time'!
  11. 4 PM at Prestonsburg.
  12. As a Beechwood Fan, I will just say the refs cost us a chance to TIE. Seems the main take on this thread is that the game was lost by time management, play calling, and the like. Those things, to me, indicate that it wasn't the PLAYERS lack of spirit, talent, or dedication. Both teams played with tons of heart and emotion. Guys, hold your heads up. Enjoy the memory of playing an intense game.
  13. I'm pretty sure Gallatin Co. is using temporary lights this year. Anyone been to one of their games? I haven't heard any comments for or against their situation. It will be a pretty evening at kickoff, and everyone should be settled in before dark. I think the lights will give off enough to be able to see our seats. ICN-6 has to be aware of the situation, so I would guess the lighting will be sufficient. I'm taping it, so I guess we'll know tomorrow!
  14. He does, and he will. Go for it, Dom!!!
  15. There is only so much a coach can do. When the coaches are on the sidelines yelling at the refs---to call something----on US, they aren't running up the score. When a 2nd or 3rd string player gets the opportunity to catch an interception or run with the ball, why shouldn't he run for the hills? He should have the chance for his moment of glory. Good Luck to the Mustangs. Keep your chin up. Keep the fans coming. You'll do just fine in a few years.
  16. Let's show some respect to Brossart. They are just starting out. Give them a break! Here's to playing a GAME tomorrow night. Good luck to all for an injury-free, good game.
  17. I'm surprised that familar names are already JUNIORS AND SENIORS! The time is just flying by......
  18. What an exciting game to watch to kick off the season, despite the game time. Dixie's got size on that line! Hadn't heard alot about their size this year. People talk about our big line, but they were right there with us! Good Luck to both teams this year. Work out the kinks and run with what you've got!
  19. Was at the Gallatin season opener last week and very impressed with their ac'd gym and nice facilities. Could get used to having stuff like that! Gallatin's new JV coach is a BW alum.
  20. Great News, Cody! Now that the decision is made, you can concentrate on your senior year. Make it a great one!
  21. They are out there right now practicing.....so that feels like it's even CLOSER!!!!!!!
  22. Borders Books has it. It's got 3 UK Players on the front and is called the 2007 Kentucky Football Yearbook. At our Borders, it was up by the register. It was my first time purchasing it, and I was a little disappointed.
  23. Can they talk/contact Dom if he's only a Junior-to-be?? I really don't know the answer.
  24. Drew Davis-SR, Chris Hoffman-SR, Jake Besse-SR, Kory Bailey-SR, Dominic Mainello-JR Their weights can be found in the new KY Football Yearbook. Don't have it in front of me, and I'm afraid to guess. Hoffman, Bailey, Mainello-all probably 250+, Davis and Besse 200+. Monster Line!!!
