They are doing a 3rd place game and a 5th place game in Freshman football? Very odd to me. How about you make the championship game or move on to basketball try outs?

Get rid of the bye week. Reduce the number of classes or reduce the number of teams that qualify for playoffs. Top 3 advance with the 1 seed getting a bye. Put high school goal posts in for the state finals.

When Highlands did their usual punt the ball and the whole team chase after it in warmups, Carson Class’ punt happened to go over to Cooper’s side of the 50. The Jaguars were right there. Some may have thought of it as a sign of disrepect, but Highlands made Friday night’s game with the Jaguars personal and left Union with a 58-51 victory. “We do that before every game. Carson actually had a really good punt and the ball got to over midfield and into their huddle,” Bluebirds quarterback Brody Benke said. “They got mad, we started talking and it was definitely personal with all the chatter that happened through the week.”

Heard that two of the more talented underclassman from Campbell County have transferred into the 9th Region and have landed at a 5A school in Boone County.

I just want to know what Dixie will do in pregame after Highlands punts the ball 20 yards into their pregame routine and all players chase the ball down?

With Rio likely running the show starting next season, will the younger, current Freshman QBs transition to new positions or patiently wait for their Senior seasons? Always a tough situation to have a stud playing the same position.

It will be interesting to see if Dixie can get revenge from last year, when Highlands blew them out, including an onside kick up 42-7 and in total control of the game. I think it will be a battle, but I don't think Dixie throws the ball as well as Cooper does. That being said, they have a top duel threat QB who loves to lower his shoulder and punish defenders. Speaking of duel threat QBs, Highlands has an absolute stud with Benke running the show. I look forward to the first time he and Brach Rice meet. I think the first team to 35 points wins this 5A matchup.

Big year for the Birds, this year. Likely a dip after this group graduates. We will see if the “Are you a “full time” or “part time” ?” player mantra sticks or just becomes divisive in the hallways of the high school as the battle for multi-sport players begins.

I guess it just depends if he’s getting part time players or full time players.

In a week of dud games across the state this one will be one of the better ones. Give me Green County

I know Lloyd's starting QB was injured in preseason game. Is he back yet? Time frame? They have been successful thus far saying "Were going to run it and there is nothing you can do about it!" I'd imagine a deep playoff run may require more diversity in the offense.

LCA finished 4-1 with 5 tough games to open the season. Rest of their slate should be easy sledding.
