I don't know. Kentucky was already unique in that you could lose in the district championship and still move on the regionals. Is there any other state in the country where you can lose a playoff game and still end up state champion? This format feels a little too much "everyone gets trophy," or in this case, "everyone gets to play in the big arena." What is the purpose? Were some districts loaded while others were bad?

Not too get too far off topic, but did you mean over 50% of residents rent, or live in actual apartments? If apartments, what other apartment complexes are there within the Beechwood School District other than by Fort Mitchell Park? As for the game, the Beechwood defensive ends must keep contain. Keeping the Indian Hill QB from getting outside will be at the top of the gameplan.

I think Brown is a talented player and has a bright future. He did have a good freshman year but when you look at his numbers you’ll see a high volume of shots being taken to reach them. They were also padded by some of the competition Scott played later in the year. Simply put, his best games came against teams that were not very good or didn’t play much defense. It will be interesting to see how he fits in at Cov Cath.

Is it normal to reclassify like Davie did when attending a Prep School? Looks like he’s repeating his Sophomore year.

A kid is a basketball/football player. It's June. The basketball team has a summer team camp and the football team wants to install some offense. The basketball coach wants the player to be there. The football coach wants the player to be there. What KHSAA has done is eliminate this issue which can cause friction between the basketball/football coaches and coach/player. It's easy. In June, the kid should prioritize basketball without having to worry about missing actual practice. In July, he prioritizes football without having to worry about consequences. Allowing actual football practices in June would bring back all these issues. At a great school, the AD would step in and make sure schedules do not conflict between the two, and when they do, basketball comes first in June, football in July. Kudos to KHSAA for what they have done to prevent these issues, or at least limit them. Kids can be stretched too thin and that's why we stop seeing multisport athletes.

Was it truly an "emergency"? Probably not. Does it eliminate 15 days of non-sense when everyone knows who the hire was going to be? Yes. I think a lot of times we see "Open Job" and think schools are actually going to have a wait and see process when in reality that is just not the case. Good AD's and administrations are always one coach ahead.

Do you think he took the new teaching job without talking to the Beechwood Admin first? I would imagine he explained his reasoning to them and he had their blessing before accepting the new position. If not, then there is a discussion to be had.

This is how I see school voting/affecting them in the tenth: 37th District: Campbell Co.- They have won this district for over a decade. Only thing it might change for them is not having to go thru both GRC and Montgomery County to win the region. Bishop Brossart- Should support Scott- Should support Calvary Christian- On paper this affects them the most, they should support it. I also think the boys program has improved a lot in the last 5 years and they may eventually make a region in the current format. 38th- All schools should be against this 39th- All schools should be against this 40th: GRC- Won't affect them much, on either side. Could possibly vote yes and that leads to another team in the 40th they may have to play again. Much like Campbell, may not have to beat Campbell County and Montgomery County both to win the region. Montgomery Co- Most of the time they will be in the regional either way. See above comments about Campbell County and GRC in terms of winning the region. Bourbon Co- Should 100% support this Paris- Should 100% support this If this was a majority vote I see it being at best a tie.

Rivalry? Ryle puts a running clock on them each year. Dixie does not need to play them until they can begin stringing together winning seasons.

I would say a large reason for that is a lot of these kids are likely already playing against each other, and in some cases together, in one of the prep school, pay leagues, etc. It was cool to see these players all in one place at one time in the past. Now, it's not as much a singular event and I'd say people pay less attention because most of these players will be in the NBA or at a different school from which they are committed to two years from now.

I totally understand this move by the Cooper admin. This is also not a situation where the coach had been there for a long time and was retiring. I would say most of the adults in charge at Cooper are ready to move on from this season, hire a new coach, and move forward.

Mulkey, Kiffin, and Wade. Imagine being the fourth person in the group on the golf course, I'll pass. I'm not sure there is enough oxygen in Baton Rogue for these three people to all be in the same department.

He was the boys coach at St. Henry before Faust and I believe before or after Ron Dawn. Danny also coach at Simon Kenton in the 90's. He won a region there.

That one player would certainly change a lot.

With your theory, if the RPI is so great, why have districts? Just seed the whole region so teams don’t get screwed for being the 3rd best team in a loaded district.

If it’s that close, I’d lean St X. They have played far more games that came down to final possessions. Covington Catholic is blowing everyone out.
