  1. "Ugh" means Conner hired the current 9th region coach of the year (Nate Browning) or the coach who has won multiple 9th region championships on the girls side (Holthaus), as well as boys JV championships. I would say they are both better than "Ugh". Good luck to all 3 candidates.
  2. I have seen both play multiple times. Gregg can throw it or make a play with his feet. Fields is more of a pocket QB. In the JV games, it was tough to evaluate Fields because he was running for his life about 2 seconds into every snap, which is not really his game. He throws a nice ball but his decision making at times could be questioned. This, again, could be partially blamed on the "running for his life" part of playing JV ball. Fields had one start last season and he was 10-20, 61 yards and an INT. If it were me, I'm sticking with Gregg without thinking twice. Speaking of Gregg, I would love to see him play outside linebacker. I think he could play at the D1 level at this position. Obviously in high school you don't see many QBs playing defense as well, but he was an absolute force his Freshman year at that position.
  3. Did the HC cheerleaders really get into a fight on the floor after the game?
  4. Pay is an issue at Beechwood. Yes he may have signed up for it, but maybe the demands of the job once in were more than was expected. Looking to be compensated a bit more.
  5. Agree whole heartedly. Party time for parents. How about the FBU racket that goes on? The amount of money spent on that by parents is ridiculous. It’s a showcase they say. Lolol. Point blank a money grab.
  6. Rocky Top, Indy/Crossroads is a weekend for parents to have fun. The FBU stuff is a money grab. it’s all ridiculous at that age level.
  7. 1A. NCC. Replacing Welch will be tough. 2A. Beechwood coach looking for more money? 3A. Lloyd. Solid. 4A. All CCH in district. Replacing Pitzer, Leen, Rodriguez and Miller is tall ask. Tough row to hoe in playoffs. 5A will be Cooper then Highlands. Highlands must replace some talented seniors. 6A will be Ryle. But playoff road will be littered with better teams than them.
  8. I wouldn’t have a lot of faith in the hire at Scott. Which hire in any sport at Scott has panned out in the last 3-5 years. Girls hoop coach is only one I can think of.
  9. Haworth swan song before heading to new school in Christian Co?
  10. In what world does a tradition rich hoop school like Holmes lose to Williamstown?
  11. Think the biggest issues have been there isn’t much an appetite for football there and that for a long time the better athletes in the building didn’t play. Not sure if this was driven by the athletes themselves or coaches in the building.
  12. I guess Highlands needs more full time players and less part time players? The Bird faithful should rally behind the hoops program, one that has actually done something in the last decade. Instead of forcing middle school hoopers to choose one or the other other and pitting one program against the other, let the kids choose and play it out. Whether you want to believe it or not it’s happening that way. They are offering the moon to these kids exiting middle school into high school. Forcing them to choose. People want to talk about Litmer. Great kid from all I gather. Promised the moon. Guess who they are making all the promises to now? Ain’t Litmer. Wouldn’t be stunned to see him in a different uni next year. The next one coming is being promised the moon. Enough of that, based on camera view on the broadcast it appeared Cooper brought more fans to the game tonight. Wild finish to close the game. Congrats to Cooper on the win!
  13. I'm a fan of anything that brings excitement to the players and program, however Ludlow needs the uniforms back before they play again. All kidding aside, Beechwood takes care of business once again. Jury still out if they solved the defensive woes or if its just lack of competition. Offense still in high gear. Fryman and Erdman are a threat to score anytime they touch the ball.
  14. May be better off for its own thread but I think St. Henry is in a pretty decent spot. You are gonna see some regression with Beechwood in my opinion after next season. Their numbers are dwindling. They cancelled their jv season this year lacking players. The Sophomore class is small. Graduate 10 or so seniors and have a solid junior class, but after that, other than Fryman the underclass is not up to Beechwood standard. There are some things swirling beneath the surface with the staff. Pay/Salary is an issue. Holy Cross draws from the 275 loop. It’s about as Covington as Covington Catholic is. Taylor Mill, Independence, Edgewood, Crestview Hills is primary feeder for Holy Cross. I can see St. Henry plucking some kids. When comparing infrastructures between the two, it’s a no-brainer.
