Final!

Last week vs Boone County, the Wildcats were scrappy. 

Tonight, they were sloppy. Lucky to beat Ludlow on their homecoming. 

Ludlow prepared a nice game plan, and for the most part, executed it well. The Panthers D plays tough, hits hard, and there were always multiple players in on the tackle. 

One last observation. Both teams had a few players cramping during the second half. I would expect that to be behind us due to the reduced humidity and cooler temperatures, but maybe the athletes just aren’t staying hydrated???

Kind of surprising to see this game so close.

Welcome to BGP @ProblemChild, and agreed. After seeing Newport down 5A Boone County 28-15 and down 4A Holmes 58-6, I would have expected to see a little wider of a scoring margin in this one.

Go RoadCats! I have a teenager left in the house and I can attest that they do not hydrate properly and they are not even an athlete. How do the Ludlow faithful feel about their HC higher after all the optimism heading into the season? Saw the field last week in person and it's awesome.

Ugly game, but I love to see what Coach Hahn is doing at Newport. Quick turnaround for the Wildcats from where they were just a couple years ago. Hope to see their continued success. 

In my opinion Ludlow outplayed Newport last night. Ludlow’s defense was outstanding and the offense was very close to getting two more scores.  As the game was winding down Ludlow had a play completed to the one yard line that was nullified by an offensive face mask penalty. How often do you see that? The defense got Newport for a safety bringing the score within two points. Basically the last play of the game the Ludlow receiver was tackled on the one yard line. I think having a bye so early in the season set them back a week. As far as the season goes, Ludlow has good athletes and will be fine for the rest of the season. Remember the district games are the games that count. 

I think for Ludlow to be fine the rest of the season, they will have to get better play at the Quarterback position.

I would agree with this from what I saw in their game against Dayton. 

Note- Ludlow also held Sayre to 14 as well. Ludlow seems to be solid defensively so far.
