Newport will be traveling to Lloyd Memorial on Friday night for homecoming. Lloyd is looking very strong halfway through the season and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. Lloyd handles this game by 3 touchdowns.

I know Lloyd's starting QB was injured in preseason game. Is he back yet? Time frame?

They have been successful thus far saying "Were going to run it and there is nothing you can do about it!" I'd imagine a deep playoff run may require more diversity in the offense.

I do not know the time frame but I can tell you he is not back yet though. That said, the same thing happened last year in week one and Sebastian stepped up and led them to a semifinals appearance against Beechwood.

As for this game, until last week I thought Newport may be able to keep it close in the first half and potentially avoiding a running clock in the second . After the game with Ludlow, I don't know if they will score enough points to hold that running clock back. 

We are hoping he is back after our bye week. That will put us against Pendleton county and then Lexington Catholic. You have to be versatile with the run and pass game to go deep in the playoffs getting our quarterback back will change the offense for sure.

It doesn't matter which Newport team shows up. They aren't good enough to beat Lloyd.
