  1. While one of the toughest- to be exepected- there isn’t really anything different from years past. They’ve started a somewhat traditional deal opening with Floyd Central (IN), then the rest of the big boys in Louisville of X, T, Manual, PRP, Butler, Ballard that they have routinely played for the most part over the years. The only newbies are Bullitt East, Fern Creek and Southern due to being in their district.
  2. 16 is too many. But why the “finish by Thanksgiving”? You all do realize that they’ve been played that first weekend in December for the last 30 or more years, correct? (And a couple years where they’ve been played the 2nd weekend in December) If anything cut a game out- week of the playoffs, taking less, but still play 9/10 reg season) & definitely start later.
  3. Yes. His. Why wait until 2021? It’s there. It’s laid out. It’s the only thing that will appease. People don’t want interdistrict it’s not what’s best for their program and there will be people against 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 because its not what best for their program. It’s has nothing to do with what’s best best or not good for high school football in Kentucky.
  4. His proposal is the only way to go. That’s what needs to be pushed and nothing else needs to even be considered or settled for.
  5. Absolutely you look out for the best interest of your program. But there are those that are going to be messed over if it goes back to 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 also. No matter what there are going to be many programs getting messed over. “Hurting football in our state” is code for= my program is about to get the business (depending on what side of the fence you’re on).
  6. I really don’t see what the problem is with the interdistrict. If you’re in a district with some hammers and you’re a nail? Or a bunch of hammers and you’re looking at cupcake city in your sister district? I’d want it changed to 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8. If my “sister” district is as tough or tougher than my district (which a lot would be)- then I’m voting to keep it interdistrict. It’s just that simple. I think you’ll see it voted by the coaches to keep it interdistrict. There are a lot more flying under the radar in favor of that than most think IMO. Nothing about “interdistrict” play is going to hurt the game in our state- that’s just a smoke screen excuse for looking out for your programs best interest if you’re against it. I wish more would just say that.
  7. Norris Lake in TN just a short drive (their Lake Cumberland) and then not too far from Laurel Lake.
  8. If shortening the season meant backing up the start date to Labor Day weekend or the weekend after, yet still ending the 1st weekend of December like it does (which less teams would be taken to the playoffs & maybe only a 9 game regular season) then I'd be all for it & it would probably increase numbers- but, that's for a completely different topic.
  9. If I’m in a weak or even district then I love this set up. If not? Then I hate it. It’s that simple.
  10. These teams have their share of Louisville/Lex guys, but there are several WKY, SCKY, EKY (or what's considered the mountains) on these rosters. Full of them actually.
  11. He just resigned/retired. He had retired from the classroom a few years ago as is.
  12. LCA is a good job if you aren’t worried about pay or retirement. He just doubled his income and got in or back in KTRS.
  13. Don’t need me to name them. All is there on the KHSAA scoreboard site. Region finalists, semi finalists, state finalists and your champ. Usual suspects. You give me 5 schools per class, 30 total...you, me or anybody else takes the field and our 5 per are going to win hands down every year.
  14. Maybe not mail in the trophies, but by in large across all classes there is a group of 4-5 that you know are going to likely be there.
  15. Best of luck to either of those guys if they get it, but I'd love to see Cade get a shot at it.
  16. Yes- which has largely been a factor in getting this going. They've had it for several years now if not mistaken.
  17. Amazing how much that school has grown. 20 years ago they were a 2A school and now a 6A (and, paired up w Male).
  18. Yes. Bullitt County Schools - Head Football Coach - Bullitt East
  19. Taylor County has been ranked way too low all year long. Their crosstown rival loss to a Campbellsville team that has all kinds of speed, plus it being a rivalry game has been held against them for way too long. I’m not sure who they go above because FS and JC just seem to be clear cut above the rest, but Taylor can play.
  20. The ‘Jackets are just on another level.
  21. Should be an interesting game. Last time around LaRue had 7 turnovers against E-town, and turning the ball over isn’t really something they do. You make mention of them not “specializing” in defense, but I know Edmonson and Union County tacked on a few TDs combined when the game was already well in hand and determined. Caldwell County is as explosive as they come along with E-town as they always seem to be, but especially when they get 7 extra possessions in a game. This LaRue County squad seems to be playing their best ball when it matters.
  22. Why is having talent and specifically having more talent (or even with) than the people you play on schedule so overlooked? I get it to an extent- all the other stuff if what makes us all feel good inside. The Kentucky Derby isn’t being won or even competed with by mules coming out of the gates.
