This was much needed. Time for certain coaches and players to behave.

Trash talk culture now. Used to be made a play and got back in the huddle. Need to start throwing unsportsmanlike flags until gets under control. 15 yard penalty every time will modify some behavior.

Well, I’m ignorant of the facts. So, what happened? In a scrimmage?

I know there was a fight at the South Warren vs Allen County Scottsville scrimmage and the scrimmage ended after the fight. Not sure about others.

Oh, I think the Atherton scrimmage also ended after a fight.  It was on their thread from yesterday.

Surely there’s more then two fights to trigger an email to all coaches.

South Warren Allen County.
Corbin Madison Central.
Atherton Valley.

So what are the repercussions from a scrimmage fight? All of the above that Tackett listed?

Bourbon/Rowan

Louisville Central/Christian County.

This is pathetic. High school sports used to be about training kids to be mentally tough. Those days are long since gone. Coaches failing to do their most important job: teaching and enforcing "soft" skills that will allow these young people to become employable.

Personally, I think if you can't control your emotions in a practice game of all things then you have no business playing the rest of the year. I'm sure that's not a popular opinion. These kids are too mentally weak to play.

While I agree coaches bear responsibility for this, remember that it takes a village. This is also a failure on teachers, administrators, parents and any other adult involved in educating and raising children. It’s NOT just up to a coach who has a kid under his watch for two hours a day from mid July for 4 months out of the year. If it were just football coaches (or the coach of any sports) responsible for teaching those “soft skills” to make kids employable, there would be millions of kids (the ones who never set foot on a field) who wouldn’t have a chance in life.

I'm glad this was sent out but it's been an issue for a while. After every single play there is chirping between the players. It could be an incomplete pass or a 1 yard gain and there will be two players just jawing at each other. It's constant, it's embarrassing, and the Head Coaches that allow their coaching staff to act like fools shouldn't be in that role. The players get away with what they are allowed to, and to many feel like "they're being disrespected". If they give up a big play they feel the need to run their mouth to protect their pride so to speak. It will take serious repercussions unfortunatly to open alot of eyes.
