  1. Unfortunately, this is becoming more and more of a thing society-wide. No accountability or responsibility for anything. The organization for which I work just abolished their attendance policy. You can call in sick and/or be late however often it suits you without repercussions. In some fields that might be ok, but hospitals are 24 hour/7 day a week operations that require a minimum amount of manpower to provide services safely to their clientele. How can this be a step in the right direction?
  2. Gen X-er here: Love Andy, but gotta go with a few newer ones 1. The Big Bang Theory 2. Married...with Children 3. Mama's Family 4. The Cosby Show (I don't condone what Bill Cosby did in his personal life, but that was must-see TV in my household) 5. Night Court
  3. Not football, but this is the reason I'd rather have my nose slammed in a car door than to darken the door of a school building ever again, much less a coach's office. Doubled my income last year, and will never look back. Admin can have it.
  4. Is Lyndon a Marshall County graduate? I think when Alan Hatcher first came to Graves County Boys basketball he brought Jeff Stokes, Lyndon, and a couple of other guys who were former players of his at Marshall.
  5. Moss was the only “sort of” team player on that 2014-2015 team. Eli was out to get his, and Trace, as I recall, played for five high schools in four years. He was absolutely toxic. None of them “bought in.” That 2016-2017 team was robbed at the buzzer in the district tournament. Had Graham not decided to start playing his role, the 2018 team gets put out in district. Steve struggled after that, but the people at Apollo seemed to forget that he graduated six seniors from that 2018 team. While I can’t remember the next guy’s name, he was a disaster hire.
  6. I could see Haworth coming to Owensboro to get closer to “home” whether he claims home to be Hopkinsville or his hometown in Mayfield. Shelton would be a disaster hire. Brown knows his stuff and was in the running for the Apollo job a few years back before the current guy was hired. Barker would be an interesting hire. I don’t know where he is these days, but he would come into the 9th district with a huge chip on his shoulder after the way he was treated at Apollo. Would love to see him flourish and take it to those jerks.
  7. Based on social media: Parent complaints that he's tough on the kids. Sounds like a small group of influential "Karens" who went to the board office. It was done by the Superintendent without the support of the Principal or AD.
  8. This is an absolute travesty.
  9. Probably not as long ago as all the outlying counties would try to convince you every year when they cry that the tournament should be held elsewhere.
  10. This is the most important sentence in that bit about the district matchup. 3rd region officials have been notoriously horrible for the last 20 years anytime there's a player on the floor taller than 6'3 or 6'4. Just flat out awful, and unable to see anyone else on the floor when they need a free throw break to catch their breath. Henning will get his 3rd or 4th foul early in the 3rd quarter. Will Catholic take advantage?
  11. Apollo doing Apollo things.
  12. They’re so good at it too. Two years ago, when we played there, every time the ball was close on a play heading to their side of the field, the chain guys dropped the chains and ran. Imagine how often the ball was short for the opposing team on those plays and how often it was just far enough for Madville on those plays. They didn’t even hide it well.
  13. I agree with you, but will also add that you absolutely CAN NOT give the officials in the 2nd region an opportunity to impact a game at Madisonville or Henderson. if so, you’ll lose every time.
  14. To the utter shock and surprise of everyone here, I'm going to agree with you on this one.
  15. Max is a good kid, and his dad is a good man. I hope for his sake it’s a short set back. If it ends up being season-ending, Apollo may not win a game. The one drive against the HH starters that resulted in a field goal was almost all Johnson and Bratcher.
  16. Apollo should probably cancel this game and replace it with Burns Middle School. At least that one would be close. Everybody gets home early in this one.
  17. The 18-year-old who was the victim of the shooting was involved in a physical altercation with a friend of the 14-year-old who did the shooting. So I would assume the friend was the provider of transportation. That's one version of events I've read somewhere since this occurred.
  18. 43-3 Heritage Hills. Listening on an audio stream and didn't hear the time remaining, but it's 2nd quarter. I've got an early morning tomorrow. So, I'm out now that my prediction of an early running clock has played out.
  19. Heritage Hills has scored 36 points on 13 offensive snaps
  20. 29-3; Apollo field goal on a 4th and goal from the 16 yard line
  21. 29-0 HH with 47 seconds left in 1st. Apollo bus will be pulling into the school parking lot at about 9:00pm at this rate.
  22. 84 yard touchdown pass from Heritage Hills 2 plays later.
  23. Apollo takes the ball to the HH 3 yard line and gives it up on downs
