And from the KHSAA:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 17, 2026

The annual meeting of the KHSAA was held on Thursday afternoon at the Central Bank Center in Lexington. The KHSAA Delegate Assembly voted on 13 proposals and you can find those results at the following link.

Proposals passing today will now start through the regulatory approval process, the first step of which is the November Board of Control meeting.

To me none of this stuff has any teeth when people just take it to court and have a friendly judge overturn it anyway. Same thing that we are seeing in the NCAA. Many of these sports governing bodies don't have any teeth in their regulations.

Unfortunately, this is becoming more and more of a thing society-wide. No accountability or responsibility for anything. The organization for which I work just abolished their attendance policy. You can call in sick and/or be late however often it suits you without repercussions. In some fields that might be ok, but hospitals are 24 hour/7 day a week operations that require a minimum amount of manpower to provide services safely to their clientele. How can this be a step in the right direction?
