Apollo should probably cancel this game and replace it with Burns Middle School. At least that one would be close.

Heard that Max Johnson went out of the game last night with a foot injury and didn’t return. Hope the young man is ok. 

Apollo is just not real good - HH had them down 57-3 and Apollo got a late TD.  I’m not sure Catholic is as good as HH, but I still think they thump them with or without Johnson.  Catholic 55-14.

Max is a good kid, and his dad is a good man. I hope for his sake it’s a short set back. If it ends up being season-ending, Apollo may not win a game. The one drive against the HH starters that resulted in a field goal was almost all Johnson and Bratcher.

Apollo parent said they got in the redzone 2 times in first half and didn't put anything on the board until before half 33-3. Apollo will have to do something about their Defense.

Did you get fired from Apollo? LOL! I really like their team and Coach. I agree with you I have heard the admin is not very supportive of football. It's gotta be hard on John and those players. Their only saving grace is him and Max Johnson. I wish them the best, but one game. My Devils lol, but the way we are playing it might be Apollo's first win. Then the ship on Frederica will definitely sink.

Man, whoever at Apollo hurt you, let it go. This is the mentality that adults at Apollo or people who send their kids there have. They are still a good football team with one hell of a coach. It is a long season.....

Are they a good football team? They haven’t won a playoff game since 2005, and to be fair this is Coach Edge’s 6th year they haven’t broke .500 once, and I don’t think 2025 will be any different so the frustration from their supporters aren’t too off base honestly.

To be honest and my son plays at Owensboro. They haven't had a good team since 2005. If they are bringing in coaches like Jeff Carlberg, John Edge and Phil Hawkins who have both coached in state finals at other schools and states, is it the coaching? You have to ask yourself, are they set for success or not?

Different brand of football in 6A, and in a County with 3 other schools, two of which that have rich program history it can definitely seem as though they aren’t set up for success. Hawkins wasn’t in it for the long haul, but Edge has been preaching from the start that he was in it to build the program but nothing has came out of it yet. They have nice facilities, a lot of students in the building, I’m not sure we can pinpoint the problem? Administration? Is the talent that awful through a school with 1.4k students, that’s hard to believe.

I'm going to sound like the Old Man and "Get off my lawn" here, but we are in such a win now society (especially the kids).

So, if you have NOT won much in the last umpteen years then it seems this "new-fangled generation" just doesn't seem to buy into much in ways of past generations without so many of the opportunities/distractions available now compared with past life.

I'm not giving Apollo a pass and they have had some "pretty" decent teams.  It just seems they have yin when they really need yang.  I mean for example last season Niles Board was a really dynamic playmaker and was in the middle of most positive offensive outbursts.  BUT he was a SR last year and their fine QB Johnson was a SO.  They have ok playmakers now, but not like Board IMHO.  If they (Johnson and Board) could have played another 2 seasons, I really think Apollo can get over the mountain with that.  BUT it doesn't work that way and it hasn't worked for the Eagles in some time.

Just gotta keep grinding!  I still think they are due for a big outburst to show what it "could" look like, so they are dangerous IMO for teams in their district.

I would say the talent is on the UP. The talent was going down when Hawkins left I felt and now it's on the way up. OMS would beat Burns up bad those years. Burns is winning and they are running the Franklin offense John ran at Catholic and John made OCMS run that offense too. I think Burns assistant coach told me Edge finally told Burns Middle School they have to run the offense or we won't have success ever. They have run this for two years and Burns MS has only lost 1 game each season.

Yeah but the other feeder middle school splits Apollo and Dc kids. College view runs the wing T. Max, Milburn, Eli, and a few more all went to college view and never saw the Franklin offense.   I know cause my kid went there before transferring to OCMS.
