Danville (4-1, 1-0) defeats Washington County (3-1, 0-1) in a game that was fought on the ground for most of the night.  Washington County chewed up a lot of clock to start the game but was unable to score, giving momentum to the Admirals who scored first and gradually pulled away as the second half went along.  Washington County did score a touchdown to have a chance to tie at the beginning of the fourth quarter.  However, a helmet-to-helmet call forced them back to their 20 on a two point attempt, which did not work out.  The Admirals then drove down the field on the ground and scored a touchdown and extra point to put the game away.  Jayvean Meaux scored all three of the Admirals touchdowns, bringing his season total to 15.  Trinden Sellers did run back a kickoff but it was called back for holding. 

The Admirals push their record to 13-0 all-time against Washington County.

Next week the Admirals will head to Shawnee (3-2, 0-0) for the Golden Eagles district opener.  Washington County will host W.E.B. Du Bois (1-3 going into tonight) to try to get their district record back to .500.

It’s such a terrible thing what was allowed to the sports programs, namely football, at Danville. You bring in a coach like this and all of a sudden they’re back to winning. Keep it up ADs.

I’ve seen Jayvian play many times.  CAL MS eliminated Bate MS from the 8th grade playoffs last year & he’s played on multiple teams like KY Future Stars with my son.  He has a very bright future.  He’s very shifty & elusive & can run with a little power when he needs to.  He lacks that elite breakaway speed right now, but hopefully will develop that as he gets older.  He reminds me of Cortez Stone in that manner but is a little thicker in the lower body.  Glad to see him doing so well this year.

He placed 6th in the Middle School State track meet in the 100 yard dash. Hopefully with a good weight room program he can get faster. Freshman LB Braiden Ford is a stud himself, I think he was on the KY All Stars as well. I heard Coach Stonebreaker say on the radio that he starts 6 Freshman.
