I really meant to ask why does it say "Week 1 Rankings" instead of "Preseason Rankings." Week 1 implies that games have been played to me.

Week 1? Have games already started?

I've been told CCH and Cooper were 1 and 1A this year in the 9th. But if Cooper is not even in the state top 25 then I guess that would mean the 9th is down this year?

Interesting that this incident took place between these two schools. I remember my 7th or 8th grade year, our team had gotten beat by Highlands by 30+ at Highlands. A few weeks later, we played Highlands at home and somehow pulled off an upset. Their coach was ejected for complaining to officials, and one player didn't shake hands with any of us and instead cursed us out. I think like Clyde said, let's remember that they are competitive and enthusiastic 13 year olds. They will learn from incidents like this.

6% of high school players play college basketball at ANY level. It is impressive, indeed.

The website: It actually could become more common place as technology continues to change. When I was in high school, I had to pay to get a profile (NCSA Sports) which contains all of the info that Cole's website has. If you have the cheaper option (buy an independent domain), and the skill to get you enough exposure (like Cole does), then a website is a smart investment. I know Cole and his family better than anyone on this site (that I know of) and I can promise you Cole is extremely humble for his young age.

Glad to see CCH finally getting some seemingly universal preseason love (key word preseason, for the last 3-4 years they have never been higher than 3 on most polls. I've heard really really good things about Cooper, so I'd have them at 2 or even 1B possibly.

Do you think it will be merely evidence of extraterrestrial life, or is it possible to find living extraterrestrials at some point? And if we do I can't imagine we'd be able to communicate with them. Fascinating subject.

There's no way Tesla has not been researching different security methods to prevent hackers from taking over. It may take a while but I'd bet they find a way.

Correct on opening up. Dec 1st I believe (?). Hopefully the two will meet up come February; I'm sure both teams will have improved tremendously by then.

If you've read this site much at all over the last year or so, I'm sure you've seen threads on CovCath and lights. The Saturday afternoon games are unique for sure. And the student section generally creates a fun atmosphere (for at least the first half). And hopefully by next year they will be playing home games on Friday nights, so the next [last] few home games on Saturday afternoons will be historic.

Don't know the details exactly, but the overseas plans did not workout for Jake. He was at a tryout for the Boston Celtics last week. I wish Jake the best of luck in his future basketball career, whether it be as a player or coach!

Not a big deal if they do; most small colleges let students in for free so that could be the way some high schools are headed. Maybe irrelevant, but years back I went to my brother's freshman basketball game at Elder in Cincinnati. I got a soda and snack from the concession stand and went back towards the gym to watch the game, but I was stopped and told I must finish the soda and snack before re-entering. When I pointed out that the fans over there all had sodas, I was told my mom and I could not bring our drinks in the gym because "You're not Elder people."

Neat article. Officials do have it extremely tough, since no one comes to games to watch them, and the officials only get attention if they (in the eyes of a subjective observer) mess up. Thanks to all the officials on BGP, I promise the athletes do appreciate your work! :thumb:

Exactly. Not to be rude to anybody, but that's why I don't get why this is news. My college just switched from Nike to Under Armour, but its really internal news. Outside of the student athletes here it is no big deal (and to players like me who love to play no matter what brand is on their feet, its barely news. ).
