Adopted Purple

Purples kickoff at 7 pm Thursday night. The game will be over by 7:30 pm. These are the games that should end at halftime, if there is a running clock.

Pulaski County isn't even in the top 20. Why would anyone pay attention to a poll that is only accurate at the end of the season. I don't need anyone's help at the end of the season.

Purples only allowed 48 rushing yards on 33 carries at Central Hardin.

Bowling Green only gave up 48 rushing yards on 33 carries at 6A Central Hardin.

Purples are starting to look like a well oiled machine. That doesn't bode well for the rest of 5A. They are starting district play next week and will probably rest some those that need it and play a lot of the younger kids. Our district is pretty weak, since realignment. I have taken the advice of several fellow posters and will give credit where it is due. South Warren has a very good team. Having two #1 teams in the same city/county says a lot about Bowling Green and Warren County. I hope South Warren wins every game until they step up and schedule us. It's never been about the kids. It's like a lot of things in life. Adults ruin it for the kids.

Too much team speed for Central Hardin. Purples 35-14. I'm sure CH has wore out the St. X film by now. It could be a little closer.

To be honest, I've thought that for 30 years. Henceforth, I will say, one of the oldest schools in South Central Kentucky. I am adopted, DF.

How could you know? All we see is these watered down results posted to boost the Spartans reputation. We've all told you guys that this is a very young Purples team. We are confident that you will see this team mature and be a force to reckon with!

I would pay $20 to watch a home game, if they would stop making kids sell things for their sport or club. I have 7 kids and Ive spent ton of money on discount cards and raffles. I bet I've bought $500 worth of crappy chocolate bars. Sometimes it's tough for the average Joe to afford a high school game on Friday nights

Oh. I see how it is. Bowling Green is landlocked. The city and county had a longtime agreement about the number of students that could attend both ways. The county, out of the blue, filed a lawsuit without even trying to negotiate a deal with the city. Bowling Green is the second oldest school in the state. Those county kids went to BGHS before the first county school was built. Now the county has four high schools. South Warren was built years before it was needed and they didn't have enough students to fill it up, so they went back on their deal with the city and tried to take enough students from BGHS and other county high schools to fill that giant school up. They got the county kids, but not the city kids. They robbed Peter to pay Paul. Now, the county has three watered down schools and one super school that isn't even close to full. The county made a mistake and wants everybody to pay for it. So, yes! Myself and many others are a little upset about this matter.

No! I just blame them for the pillaging of athletes from Warren Central and Greenwood in order to build a super school that will be able to beat the Purples in athletic events. The county went so far as to file lawsuits to try and remove about 90% of the county kids going to BGHS. It cost the city and county hundreds of thousands of dollars and nothing has changed much. South Warren will schedule Bowling Green in football when they think they can beat the Purples or when they are forced to by moving up to the same 5A district, which I don't will happen. I think they will have 6A numbers by next realignment or will play up to avoid the Purples.

Bowling Greens Carothers actually had 251 yards of total offense. He had 106 yards rushing and one touchdown and 145 yards receiving and two touchdowns on four receptions.

It would have been nice to see where the Gator program would be right now, if South Warren hadn't robbed them of most of their athletes. We talk about what it did to Warren Central, but Greenwood took a big hit as well. I don't see how the "powers that be" can sleep at night!

The Gators were up 43-0 at halftime on one of the worst teams in the state. The Gators have a decent team this year and their schedule will allow them to win most of their games, but they will be a non factor in the playoffs, as usual.

The last two games were sloppy. If you can't score in the 2nd half of a game, your luck will run out eventually. This team needs better line play on both sides of the ball.

What worries me is second half scoring. We didn't score against Owensboro last week and only seven points tonight against Warren Central. Our QB is getting sacked way to much. The Dragons put more pressure on Payne than we put on Shanklin. When did we stop blitzing? No wonder our defensive backfield is so good. We're only rushing three or four at most. They need to fix things and be quick about it.

Coach Wallace has asked publicly and privately for this game to be scheduled, but it's a no from South Warren. It's my understanding that Coach Smith doesn't want this game. I'm sure he has his reasons, but I can't think of a good one!

South Warren is already the biggest school in Warren County. They will probably have 6A numbers before the next realignment. Skipping 5A altogether. Their plan all along!

I feel for Warren Central this week. It's not a district game anymore, but the rivalry is still there. There in no one the Purples would rather beat. Purples 35-7.
