DFire, what about Damani Walker? Will he be able to play or is he injured? I know he is a good player and know he didn't play at Meade. Would think he would be a boost for this game.

 

I think WC can keep it really close for a while, but similar to the WC-Owensboro game, I think BG comes on late and wins by 14 to 21 points. Hope no injuries for both going into district play!

I feel for Warren Central this week. It's not a district game anymore, but the rivalry is still there. There in no one the Purples would rather beat. Purples 35-7.

I think athletically, Warren Central can match up very well with BG. Up front will probably be the Dragons undoing. If Shanklin can have a great game for WC, I could see that being a problem for BG. In the end, I think BG wins this game, but it could be a good one for a bit.

Walker dressed for the Meade County game, so I would think he's close. One does have to consider if they will risk reinjuring something a week before district play begins. Unless I overlooked him, Malik Peele didn't play at Meade County either. Both of those guys are among the fastest on the team, and very needed, but they are needed for the district run too.

Thanks! I would think both might get the start and see how the game goes, but like you say this isn't a district game anymore and better to have them 100% for Franklin.

I hope they do. I hate what they have had to go through and there is no rivalry any Purple alumni enjoyed more than with the Dragons. I already miss them being a district game. Adds fuel to the fire.

In a single word - no.

 

They did not have enough to field a freshman team this year, and they chose not field a 7th grade team because they didn't have enough for an 8th grade team - so everyone plays on the 8th grade team. The current seniors are the last crop to come from Moss that was very successful. The juniors have some talent and then it is a few players that have good talent. I believe that you'll see them have some nice players but not the depth needed. It's why I think basketball will be OK while the other sports won't. They had 43 total players on the team this year at the varsity level.

The big thing for Warren Central will be keeping fresh legs on the field. I feel Central has the athleticism to compete with BG as long as they have the conditioning. The trenches will also pose a problem for WC.. I hope to see BG to reduce the turnovers this game by keeping the ball off the ground. If Clark Payne and playmakers Wilson, Carothers, and Yates do what they've been doing so far this season, it'll be a running clock. I predict an interception each by Cline and Fant.
