It's my opinion Dee Cain was the best football player I saw the last two years in WKY.. Physically ready to play college football. I see him as a outside LB'er or strong sayety at WKY.

If you could really take 2 months and pick the best 40 high school seniors across the nation you could win if you had that special QB who could make you go.. Think about it your going have some big bad boys upfront with big athletic LB'ers. I can pick the skill kids up from Florida, Alabama, Texas.. Get the big boys upfront from the Midwest mix in with the south. Thrown in some soccer kid who can just kick the living crap out of the ball! Hell ya we could beat the worest team in college!!

Failed to mention that another strength of the defense is tuffer angles for the offense. No 1 and 3 techniques. So guards can't down block you or fan out.

The wide tackle defense is an even six man line with two linebackers making it an 8 man front and 3 deep diamond secondary against traditionally TE and two back offense. Usually defense guards play head up on offense guards. D ends were position outside shoulder of the TE's 1 to 2 yards. It is a containing and pursuing defense. It is an excellent stunting and blitzing defense. Strengths of wide tackle defense: 1. Defense guard area is strong 2. It is relatively stronger outside than inside. 3. Eliminates the double team power block over the offensive tackle area 4. Hard to sprint out / toss sweep against. 5. Curl area and long pass are adequately covered. 6. Good stunting defense with many possibilities. 7. Can jump to defenses quickly and easily. Weakness 1. Wide splits can hurt it 2. Outside veer kills it. This is why many teams in the late 70's stop running it. 3. Hard to cover flats 4. Vulnerable to traps. 5. Power and isolation at linebackers. Lb'ers better be tuff run stoppers. 6. Short middle zone over LB'ers is open 7. Against two TE's there is seven on six relationship for the offense end to end. Wide tackle six is the Kenucky defense Jerry Claiborn ran in the early 80's. John Hardin when they get in their 40 look against a TE run a form of the wide tackle six.

Hoptown should be considered in the top 5. Good athletic QB with a year under his belt with most skill kids returning. Lost some linemen but should be able to replace them with little or no problem. John Hardin returns a ton of talent and if they get their best player back from Tennesee like I'm hearing they would be hard to deal with.

I usually agree most of your post but not on this one saying they would beat BG 30 or more 9/10 times. Think you might be looking at ST. X score to much. I thought Lafayette competed with Male for most part of the game and I believe BG is better than Lafayette. BG secondary would keep em in the game and at any time could score a pick 6.. Male is the best team by far but just don't see it being that lopsided.

True not over looking that and usually BG has a ton more experience than their opponents in the playoffs. Guess I'm going on last season where Owensbore went two more rounds. The Red Devils return like 8/9 guys on the defensive side from their state run last season. I might be wrong i bet Owensbore has more seniors starters than BG.

Boy this will be a dandy of a game.. Very familiar with both programs and thinking BG will pull this one out. Don't think it will be a high scoring affair like some are posting. Owensboro needs to some timely play action passing to keep BG's safety's honest from playing the run. BG needs to protect or have an answer for their QB from Owensboro D ends who like to come off the edge. Red Devils has more experience players who have been battle tested in the playoffs and BG has the mental edge just because they are who they are. BG- 18 Owensboro- 14

Christian County Sophomore Kolbe Langhi has averaged 2,362 passing yards his first two years. He's on pace to be in the top 10 all-time if he continues his pace. JR WR Keyron Catlett has 2,758 career receiving yards is now 27th all-time KY receiver. Sophomore RB/WR Ziyon Kenner has over 2,000 yards all purpose yards his first two years for the colonels. These three will continue to improve and should be even more dangerous next season.

Best QB in WKY is Zuberer from Owensboro Catholic hands down. To say Johnson out pass Langhi is a stretch to say the least. Langhi has thrown for more yards but less touchdowns than Johnson. But look at the competition who's playing the tuffer schedule and who has to throw the ball in the red zone in order to put points on the board. Langhi is completing over 60% of his passes and has gone over 2,000 yards for the second year in a roll.. That's not to bad if you ask most. Now I like the Johnson kid from Hoptown he's for real. He's put the tigers on his back and their rolling pretty good. I hope he continues to get better and look forward to watching him on the basketball court this season. Oh, last night County started 2 sophomore's at receiver and a sophomore RB. I think the future looks pretty good and if anybody wants to transfer so be it. Christian beaten Hoptown last 9 out 10 years. They also won the Freshmen, JV and the 8th grade beat em by 30. I think county will be ok!

Jam you actually predicated 4-6 at the start of the year in the Christian County 2015 thread.. Don't think the Cololels are ready to concede the year just yet. I really believe we can play with BG. Last night was disappointing I agree. Couple of costly turnovers really hurt last night and not seeing the wing-t in several years kept the time of possission in the Bulldogs favor. Just could not stop the run!!
