Who will be in the preseason top 5 in 4a?

Who will make it in, and why? Will anyone be able to knock off SW?

John harden ,franklin Simpson ,Johnson central ,wayne co and yes South Warren will be back next year !

If South Warren doesn't lose much from this year's squad, it would be hard to not imagine them being miles ahead of everyone else.

South Warren has 19 seniors, I think. They lose a lot of talent, but will probably be in the hunt for another title. I'm anxious to see how they reload next year.

South will return Hayes, Litten, and Namvong along with Haynes on offense. They have 3 linemen that saw a lot of playing time as well but were not starters.

They will have to replace most of the line on offense.

on Defense they return Haynes at DE and Jacob Lacey on the line. They have 5 players that saw a lot of action in the secondary and on the line but were not starters.

So they have to replace a lot on defense as well.

Keep in mind that their Freshmen and JV teams were undefeated as well this year so they still have some talent to fill in the positions just not a lot of varsity experience.

How will the Warren County redistricting affect South Warren?

How will the Warren County redistricting affect South Warren?

Nothing is known yet, but you can bet that immediate impact will be almost zero. I'd be stunned if they did anything that required people to leave right away. They may ultimately do nothing. Won't know until sometime in January.

Sounds like the redistricting is only going to affect the elementary schools. Which won't have an immediate impact on the High Schools but obviously will in 5-8 years.

South Warren returns three starters on both sides of the ball from their two deep chart, and one of those is overlapping (CJ Hayes). Every single one of their offensive linemen is gone, including starting TE Chase Japp, and they also lose two backups from the two deep. They return backups at Center, RG, RT, and TE, with both the RG (Jacob Lacey) and TE (Haynes) current starters on the defensive line. They'll either go both ways - something no starting lineman was asked to do (though they did rotate in some) - or they'll be using someone else rather than the current stated backup. The entire linebacking corps is replaced with only Chris Sheppard returning from their backups. Hayes is the only returning player from the secondary. In all, five backups from the two deep also return, and one of those (Thrasher) is also a backup on the offensive line, which is where I expect he would actually play since he's backing up current starter Jacob Lacey on the defensive line. Or, he'll shift over to the other DT position.

A couple of years ago when the Middleton class departed, I was bold enough to say I thought they'd take a step back, which was wrong. So I don't think I can say with certainty that this one will, only that they have a significant turnover in experienced personnel. There will be a lot of new faces, albeit ones I'd expect to be talented and well coached. We'll just have to see where they land. My guess is, nowhere near as dominating, but still strong, and maybe enough to still be considered the favorite. It really helps them returning their QB, best RB, and best WR.

Dragon, Who in the district will have the fire power to compete with SW? Will Renoylds and co. at WE have enough? FS,ACS, your dragons will they have enough to compete?

Franklin Simpson will be stoutest competition for SW .FS will be very good but if they don't have passing game they won't win

JH returns a ton of talent but the big question will be at QB, specifically does Witherspoon come back and play next year. JH has a two year window to win a state title.

IMO really no particular order.

South Warren due to this year.

John Hardin. Returns some talent

Johnson Central cause they always are

being in east.

Franklin Simpson and Collins.

I bet one of those 5 win it all next year.

Hoptown should be considered in the top 5. Good athletic QB with a year under his belt with most skill kids returning. Lost some linemen but should be able to replace them with little or no problem.

John Hardin returns a ton of talent and if they get their best player back from Tennesee like I'm hearing they would be hard to deal with.
