Class 5A State Championship: Bowling Green 21 Pulaski County 7

Featured Replies

Congrats Purples. Congrats Coach Wallace.

Pulaski scored almost immediately to start the game but it was all Bowling Green from that point on. Fant, Wilson, Carothers, Yates, and Payne too much for Pulaski County.

Pulaski needed to punt on that 4th and 1.

But congrats to Bowling Green.

Since 2013 this group of 2015 seniors at Pulaski County have lost 5 games in all. 3 of those losses are losses to Bowling Green.

Congratulations to Bowling Green on taking state and to Pulaski County on a great run over the past two seasons.

Really proud of this BG group!

State Champs!

Also congrats to Pulaski. I was really impressed with the Pulaski D. Good luck next year!

Who all does both teams lose?

Who all does both teams lose?

I think Pulaski County loses more than BG but both teams will be reloading immediately and will be locked and loaded and ready for rematches in the state finals coming soon.

Off the top of my head BG is returning Payne, Wilson, Carothers and Cofer.

Owensboro is another team that should be right back in the thick of things as well.

I expect these three teams to be the class of 5A for the next 3-5 seasons.

Congrats to my Purples!!!!! If I wasn't at work I'd be celebrating in style. Instead I'll just say have a blast for me this evening.

Congrats and and tip of the cap to Pulaski County. Nothing but love and respect from this Purple. Same time, next year?

Good, hard, competitive game. BG just had too much speed, depth, athletes and too well coached. They grunted it out and found ways to make plays. The punt return TD was huge.

I didn't feel BG played its best game offensively, seemed like they could move the ball, but would come up short in finishing it off. Pulaski defense was solid.

BG defense brought the attitude again tonight. Really played tough.

I thought the officials were pretty one sided, especially in second half. Two BG touchdowns called back, hit us with a personal foul on a hit on a receiver which put them in a position to score, but they had similar hits on the BG receivers several times with no calls. So i didn't care for the officiating this game.

Congrats to coach Wallace, the assistants and the players. Great job again this year, it's been amazing to watch.

Is Wilson from Bowling Green the stud basketball player?

BG will likely repeat. Pulaski got out coached. My feed froze several times I missed most of it. Pulaski coaches give there defense no credit and relied on there O too much.

He's an important player for them but IMO the studs on that team are Kyran Jones and Terry Taylor. Wilson is very important to them though.

Just got home. Congrats to Pulaski on great year.

Outside of the opening kickoff that got Pulaski in red zone BG shut them out. In this game Clark Payne played better than Riley Hall and BGs play calling was much better than Pulaski. Although there were 2 TDs called back on BG, BG did sputter a little. Hard to complain when you win though.

Again, you can't say enough about the coaching staff for BG. Defensively, I would assume it was the toughest look Hall saw all year. It just wasn't the right year for a good passing team to face this year's Purples. No one was going to beat us throwing the ball. Next season, no one beats us running the ball.

4 out of 5 years, state champs I think anyone would take. This team and coaches will celebrate but will be hitting it again after the New Year.

Don't want to jinx the Purples but offensively next season, forget about it. You better have a really good offense because not many teams will outscore us.

Great season Purples, Congrats on another ring!
