  1. I hope he does leave the Steelers because I cannot stand them. It will be very interesting to see how JuJu does next year without AB...if the Steelers trade him...
  2. I am shocked that a Chris Mack coached team with ACC talent could look THAT BAD against the same press for THAT long. I get struggling against it for a possession or two but to literally go 10-15 minutes without figuring it out is mind boggling. I will admit I have not seen UL play much this year so if Deuce says UL struggles against the press a lot, I will take his word for it.
  3. So this past week, the European Tour played its first tournament ever in Saudi Arabia. Dustin Johnson won. For those not familiar with ins and outs of professional golf, the only way to get great US and some other international players to go to far away places like Dubai, China or Saudi Arabia is to pay "appearance fees". Tiger could routinely make a million or more (I have heard as high as three million) to just show up at one of these tournaments and other top guys...like DJ or Sergio...could command half a million or so...maybe more...not sure as these amounts are never publicized. The PGA tour has never allowed tournaments to pay appearance fees. So players go to these foreign tournaments as a cash grab basically. I don't blame them one bit... Well Sergio acted like a COMPLETE IDIOT at the tournament. On Friday, he hit a ball in a bunker and was not happy with the rake job by a caddie for a player playing before him and threw a hissy fit after he hit the shot...he looked like a 3 year old would look if you took his ice cream away. What is MUCH WORSE than this is that the next day he intentionally damaged 5 greens by scuffing his feet across them and on one green actually putting a divot in the green. One person described the greens as looking like a deer had walked across them. Keep in mind that this was going on DURING THE TOURNAMENT, not after, so all the players playing behind him had to putt on damaged greens. Also keep in mind that this took place over an hour+ period on 5 different greens so this was a deliberate and calculated act (this is much worse than if he got mad and slammed his putter down on one green making a mark...and that would be bad enough). I imagine the other players wanted to punch him in the face about this. These guys make their living by putting on these greens and having to putt through a messed up portion of a green intentionally caused by another player is just not acceptable. What the heck is wrong with him? He is not a young kid on tour and absolutely should know better...he is 39 years old! The European Tour announced that it is not going to suspend him. That tour is in a tough spot because he is one player who still plays most of the time in Europe...and a lot of European guys (eg: Rose and McIlroy and many others) have decided to play much more in the US. So the European Tour needs the big name guys it has and does not want to suspend arguably the biggest name it has. He is lucky because he deserves to be suspended for 3-6 months IMO. I imagine he has lost the respect of just about every other pro golfer over this...as a buddy of mine said today, the greens are "sacred". You just cannot do what he did...
  4. I am a Celtics fan and would love to see the Celtics get AD...but it seems pretty obvious that AD (and his father) are not interested in Boston. If that is the case then I hope he goes to LA (out of the East)...if they give up all those young players and picks I don't see it working out well for LA at all...and I am fine with that.
  5. So the latest offer from Magic is Ball, Kuzma, Ingram, Rondo, Stephenson, Beasley and two first round picks for Anthony Davis?!?!? Plus they will take on Solomon Hill's contract to help the Pelicans with cap relief... That seems like too much to me.
  6. I thought the NFL 100 commercial was great. The Franco Harris immaculate reception part was just awesome. Actually that commercial was really well done and I cannot imagine how hard that must have been to get all those guys there to put that together. I also loved the Hyundai commercial...thought it was really funny. The Vegan floor and the lady holding Beetloaf was absolutely hilarious. The Vegan people going nuts on Social Media need to lighten up. I literally laughed out loud when the lady was holding the tray with that nasty purple beetloaf...:lol2:
  7. What would Brady's QBR be if he threw a TD pass at the goal line instead of handing it off to Michel. That is one problem with QBR IMO. If you throw a TD pass from the 1 yard line, it really helps your QBR when the team could most likely score either by running or throwing. He did complete 21-35 passes for 262 yards. 60% is not bad and that is not a horrible "yards per attempt" either. The pick also killed his QBR...and while not a good throw, it was a tipped ball...lots of luck involved on whether a tipped ball is picked. I am NOT saying Brady played a great game for him by any means. I think he would tell you he played a sub-par game. I will say that he did not play a horrible game IMO.
  8. So that means they beat every playoff team on their schedule...obviously including the three teams they played in the playoffs...just a weird stat... How do you beat KC twice (including once in Arrowhead), the Bears at Soldier field, and the Chargers like a tied up goat...and lose to the Dolphins, Jaguars (by 11), Titans (by 24!), and Lions (by 16!)? The NFL is definitely a week to week league...
  9. Drew Brees and the Saints had to be sick watching the Pats win and score only 13 points.
  10. I agree that was a big penalty. I also thought it was a very weak call. That is literally a holding call you could call on EVERY play of the game. As a Pats fan, I will take it though.
  11. I don't ever remember watching a game since the NFL instituted replay where neither coach threw a challenge flag and there were no booth reviews in the last two minutes...not one time did the ref go under the hood...
  12. To be clear, I am not saying he is leaving the school or the HHS football program entirely. What I heard from someone I trust is that he will no longer be the offensive coordinator.
  13. It's a SB rule that the Pats don't score in the first quarter...
  14. I heard from a very good source that HHS will not retain Zach Deaton as offensive coordinator next year. Evidently, HHS has a guy on the staff that came from Valdosta, Georgia who will take over as the new coordinator. I don't know his name. Perhaps someone on BGP knows??
  15. I always root for UCONN because I appreciate what Geno has done starting a program from scratch and becoming the most dominant program in college sport's history. That being said, I was happy for Jeff Walz...he seems like a class act and can't be all bad being a HHS alum!
  16. I know this has been reported but I have a hard time believing this...
  17. Why would any superstar player want to go to play with Lebron NOW. I would understand it more a couple of years ago. However, Lebron is 34 now and he has played basically 100 games a year for over 15 straight years. I think he could age and become injury prone rapidly. Also, it seems like other really good players who join Lebron get none of the credit when they win and a lot of blame when they lose. This will be fun to watch for so many reasons.

    Early next week

The two worst words to hear in an nWo post in the winter are "arctic front"...ugh...:(
  19. There are so many guys who should have gotten 100% of the vote before Rivera. It is shocking that a relief pitcher was the first one to get 100% as some baseball experts are not high on the value of a closer. How did none of the following get 100% of the vote? Cy Young, Ruth, Cobb, Gehrig, Walter Johnson, Mathewson, Lefty Grove, Williams, DiMaggio, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Koufax, Musial, Bench, Seaver, Griffey Jr. I am glad that someone finally got 100% of the vote but it should have happened long ago. It will be interesting if Jeter gets 100% next year.
  20. Just decided to go to Phoenix with my wife in early February for a long weekend to get away from the cold. Bringing the sticks and definitely playing a few times...a golf buddy of mine is already going to be out there to watch his granddaughter in a college gymnastics competition and he is going to stay an extra week so he will be there when I am there...cannot wait!
  21. I have to admit that this is the most excited I have been about the Reds in quite some time. They are definitely trying to compete. I am curious to see if they still try to get Kluber now.
  22. He would NEVER do it but I think what would have to happen is start the game at the time and yard line where the PI happened. Basically play the last 1:40 or so. So the Saints would take 3 knees and kick the FG with less than 10 seconds to go. Unless Lutz, one of the best kickers in the league, missed a 20-25 yard FG with the ball centered up for him, the replay would be 4 plays...maybe 5 with the kickoff.
  23. You and not one NBA GM...but you are entitled to your opinion...
