They pounded out 17 hits... Dutcher 4-4. Two dingers a double and single... Pretty good night at the plate

Obviously I was talking too much with @Cru Bat Boy and not paying attention to the game, Ryle beat Brossart..........the way the Stangs were celebrating at the end you would have thought they won. :idunno:

Newcath So. Jaden Watts gets the tough assignment of facing the Birds tonight, and suffers her 1st varsity setback in 4 decisions. After a VERY tough 1st inning she did a decent job, but her defense let her down in the 4th.

 

The "cake-eaters" send 12 batters to the plate in the 1st inning and score 7 runs on 7 hits, highlighted by a 2-run "dong" by Shelby Graybill and a solo "johnson" by Brennah Dutcher. Dutcher leds off the 2nd with another solo job and Josie Daley's Sac-Fly scores another. The Birds get one in the 3rd on an RBI GO5-3 off the bat of Graybill. The Birds score 5 times in the 4th on 3 hits and 3 NewCath errors. The inning starts off as Barth reaches on an E3, Daley HP, GO6-3, Brooke Dill with a 2-run double, Coffey reaches on an E5, Spencer doubles, Graybill RBI single and Dutcher reaches on an E5, and the game ends due to time limit.

 

NewCath was only able to muster 4 singles against Bailey Spencer, a 1st inning Alex Burkart drive thru the 5-6 hole, a 2nd inning Lexy Breen "Texas-Leaguer" over 2nd, a 3rd inning Watts shot to left-center, and a 4th inning Haley Meyers shot to left-center.

Graybill's went out on a line, and Dutcher's were just BOMBS!!! You can't try to pitch around Shelby, cause Brennah is just as dangerous!!!

The two 4th inning errors at 3rd base for NewCath were "right through the wickets".

Untouched on both. Neither ball was touched by the third base men. Both were missiles

I'm tough on the girls but seeing those hits by Coffey and Dutcher for any third baseman would have been a challenge much less fielding them. They were not routine grounders or pop ups.
