I don't like what Williams did there. If the game is tied, I have no problem with it. But when you are trailing and the other team is letting you score, I think you should score the TD. I know the FG was a chip shot, but I've seen a lot of missed FG's this year.

I get what you are saying Deuce. HHS fans have been spoiled by Dale and all of his great teams. However, I think a lot of the HHS fans on here are frustrated because the current staff does not try some obvious things that may help. I am not saying that HHS would win a state title with the changes but it would probably make the team better...and if didn't, the offense CANNOT be worse than it has been the last two weeks. There just does not seem to be any creativity at all on the offensive side of the ball IMO.

I don't know if it accomplished anything and I am not saying a HS player yelling a bunch of "f" bombs should be acceptable. I just said I heard it happened. Personally, if I was the coach, I would be happy that a senior leader was trying to spark the team but would not condone the language.

It is very important to keep in mind (if I understand this correctly) that the schools are NOT paying any money to the players. The players will be allowed to be paid by OTHER entities for their likeness. So regarding #2 above, the schools will not have any less money to support non-revenue sports. Regarding #4 above, it is a free market thing so I don't think Title IX applies. If a UK male basketball player can command $500,000 in likeness related fees and a female basketball player (or male golfer) cannot, that is not the school's issue since the school is not paying it. At least that is how I read this.

I have not seen any other QB's in NKY this year so I won't disagree with you. I will say that if he is the best QB in NKY, it is a very down year for QB's this year. He is a decent QB but nothing special IMO.

Last night was the first HHS game I have seen this year and I have to say that was one of the worst offensive performances I have seen. The first half was just bad football by both teams. I am pretty sure there were seven fumbles recovered by the opposing team (4 by HHS and 3 by Conner) IN THE FIRST HALF. Conner threw a pick so I believe each team had 4 turnovers in the first half...of course on the Conner pick, the HHS DB fumbled the ball right back to Conner after a nice return. I agree with others about Huddy playing on offense. I am not saying he should play every play on offense but he (and probably others) should have some packages designed for him on offense. He is clearly the best athlete on the team and has a HUGE motor so let him help you some on offense. I just seems like a no-brainer to me. You literally cannot do worse than what I saw last night and from what I have heard, last week was even worse. What do you have to lose by trying something different? I also heard from someone in the locker room after the game that Huddy absolutely went off on the team. It was loud and many of the words said contained four letters.

I went last week and made $200 in bets on college and NFL games and basically broke even. Lost the "juice" so ended up with $191. I bet this week on the Pats and Cowboys and laid A LOT of points (22.5 and 21.5 respectively). I think the Jets with a third string QB and the Dolphins are THAT bad. We will see. I also took the Bengals and Bills over 44 points. I could kick myself for not betting Wisconsin -3.5. I really thought they would hammer Michigan but could not pull the trigger on that game for some reason. UGH! I really like being able to bet games locally. It's going to make football season even more enjoyable.

I saw a good one tonight at the Pit (Elder). The game was delayed almost an hour due to Cathedral being in a traffic jam because of a wreck on I-74. It was worth the wait. Elder kicked a FG with less than a minute left in regulation to tie the game at 31 and then won 38-31 as it scored first in OT and then forced a fumble on 3rd down when Cathedral had the ball and recovered it for the win. Neither team led by more than 7 the entire game. Just a very good football game played by two very good teams. Both teams have very big offensive lines (I know Elder has two O-lineman going to D-I schools). Both teams are fun to watch with QB's who can both run and throw.

What a brutal early season schedule for the Camels. Playing HHS and CCH back to back is brutal.

I actually like watching soccer highlights. The players do some incredible things. I just cannot watch an actual match for 1.5 hours to see two phenomenal athletic plays. The highlights are usually great though.

I will never understand why anyone ever gets on a motorcycle. You can do everything right and if someone pulls out in front of you or you run over a bad patch of gravel or something else happens that you have no control over, you are dead or badly injured.

I don't think there is any way he committed suicide. There are ALOT of high profile people who could have been in serious trouble if Epstein started "singing". The biggest of all was Bill Clinton but there are many others as well. I think he was murdered before he could bring others down with him. He was supposedly on suicide watch. If so, wouldn't there be a camera on his cell 24/7? I think the prison authorities looked the other way and let someone do the dirty deed. There are VERY MANY people in the US and around the world VERY HAPPY this guy is dead and cannot talk now.

My only problem with current OT rules are that OT's are too long. I wish OT's were no longer than 2 minutes instead of 5. I would be OK with 1 minute OT's. I just don't see the reason for 5 minute OT's.

I went to Red Sox-Yankee three game weekend series in 1986 (I think that was the year) at Yankee Stadium. In the Saturday game, there was a fly ball down the left field line and Jim Rice reached into the stands to catch the ball. A Yankee fan grabbed his hat and started running up the stairs in the stands. Jim Rice jumped into the stands and chased him. It was quite a sight to see and could have gotten REALLY ugly. So on Sunday, when Rice comes up to bat in the first inning, the fans are going nuts booing him due to the incident the day before. I said to my buddy, who is a Yankee fan (I am a Red Sox fan), that it would be so cool if he hit a home run now. The NEXT PITCH, he launched one into the left field stands. He took about five minutes to circle the bases and the place was going completely nuts. I will never forget it.

Makes me think of the line from the Bob and Tom song. "Man I'm glad I'm a man". "I find Michael Bolton completely revoltin', man I'm glad I'm a man"!

What's the story here??

I am very happy for Jim Herman. His mother taught both of my daughters at St. Antoninus grade school in Cincy about 18-20 years ago. I follow golf more than 98% of the population. One of my daughters came home from school one day and told me that Mrs. Herman's son was a pro golfer. I had never heard of him. For me to have never heard of him says something because I am a golf nerd and know far more about the players than I should. Well I have heard of him now! I actually have followed his story for a few years now. I especially like the story about how he was a club pro at one of President Trump's courses and how he got to know President Trump well. The President played a round with him a couple of years ago and Jim went out two weeks later and one his first PGA event. He has had injury issues the past 18 months (including plantar fasciitis which is brutal in case you have never had it). He played a round with President Trump two weeks ago and then won again yesterday! Jim should play with President Trump much more often. Evidently, President Trump gave him the putter he used this week when he played with him two weeks ago. You can love or hate President Trump but one thing about him that is just a fact is that he is a decent player and knows a lot about golf. Jim actually kissed the putter that President Trump gave him when he was interviewed after he won. I am just happy for Jim Herman because the win yesterday gives him a lot of freedom the next couple of years as he gets a two year exemption and qualifies for the PGA tournament and The Players championship next year. Hopefully he can qualify for the FEDEX playoffs in August.

With Zion, "load management" can have more than one meaning. He needs to get in the gym and lose some of his "load". It looks like he has been eating a lot more than working out since the end of the college hoops season. He has always been big obviously but it looks like he has gained about 20 lbs in the last few months to me.

Oldest of two

The day my second daughter was born. She was due on June 26th. She decided to come out on May 13th, six weeks early. May 13 happens to be my birthday too! It is really cool that we share the same birthday. It was a little scary at first since she was born six weeks early but the doctors told us she was fine right from the start. That was a little over 28 years ago and that just does not seem possible.

Well I am back from Bandon Dunes! Had a great time! You are right Coach that it is a haul getting there. Flight from Cincy to San Fran, then to Portland, then 4 to 4.5 hour drive from Portland to Bandon. The drive is really scenic with the fir trees and the Umpqua River which is just gorgeous. Three guys on our trip (out of 12) missed their connecting flight because their first flight was delayed. However, their clubs made it on the second plane. They had to fly to Seattle and drive a couple of hours to Portland and stop at the airport to get their clubs and then make the drive to Bandon. Trust me they were not happy campers about this. The courses are amazing. We were lucky with the weather as they called it a heat wave because the temperature got up to 70 degrees. I was sunny 3 of the 4 days we played and the other day was cloudy but no rain. It was very windy the first day when we played Bandon Dunes. The next two days were much calmer (Pacific Dunes and Bandon Trails). The last day was breezy again (Old Macdonald). It was funny how the guys disagreed on which course they liked the most. I ranked them in this order: I liked Bandon Trails the most (not as scenic but just a well designed course IMO), then Pacific Trails (incredible views), then Bandon Trails and then Old Macdonald. Just because I ranked Old Macdonald last does NOT mean I did not like it. I did. I really struggled on the greens all week as they were very undulating and not very consistent in terms of speed. I also struggled with the firmness of the turf. It was hard to take a divot and you almost never left a ballmark on the greens. Overall we had a great time and I highly recommend it. It is NOT cheap and you basically need a full day to get there and a full day to get home. But I found it worth it. The Punchbowl was a BLAST! We went around it 3 times and the drinks were flowing (the guys started me on a new drink -to me- called Transfusion and after three of them, my putting got worse...lol). I dropped about 10 bucks at the Punchbowl:)! BTW, my caddy told me they are playing the US Amateur their last year. I cannot wait to watch that!

I just read this thread for the first time today. Now they are saying that Papi was shot in a case of mistaken identity. He looked like the guy and was dressed similarly to the guy who was supposed to be the target. Amazing that people jump to conclusions right away as heinous as "he was having an affair with a drug lord's wife or girl friend". I was just in the DR last December and had a great time. I did stay in an all inclusive resort though. You go off the beaten path in the Caribbean and it can get dicey.
