ggclfan Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 I heard from a very good source that HHS will not retain Zach Deaton as offensive coordinator next year. Evidently, HHS has a guy on the staff that came from Valdosta, Georgia who will take over as the new coordinator. I don't know his name. Perhaps someone on BGP knows??
Guest Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Wow. So crazy if there is a Valdosta guy at Highlands. Since Highlands is just 20 wins or so behind Valdosta. 1 & 2 in wins nationally.
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Isn't Deaton a faculty member at Highlands? Will he be staying on teaching?
Jack of all Trades Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Isn't Deaton a faculty member at Highlands? Will he be staying on teaching? Do not believe he is leaving the school or the sideline.
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Do not believe he is leaving the school or the sideline. So are you saying he's going to continue coaching but just won't be the OC any longer? Or are you disputing the original post completely?
ggclfan Posted February 4, 2019 Author Posted February 4, 2019 To be clear, I am not saying he is leaving the school or the HHS football program entirely. What I heard from someone I trust is that he will no longer be the offensive coordinator.
Jack of all Trades Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 So are you saying he's going to continue coaching but just won't be the OC any longer? Or are you disputing the original post completely? Staying on staff from what I gather.
PsalmsG Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 The new OC for Highlands is Sam Umberg. I heard it straight from Zach yesterday. Zach will still be on staff as an offensive assistant.
barrel Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Anyone know anything about Coach Umberg or the school he is coming from?
Straitshooter Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Googling his name brings up his time as an WR coach at Morehead. It does say he is a graduate of Valdosta State. He graduated high school from North Gwinnett and coached there as well.
