Every fan of Kentucky High School Football should be rooting for Bowling Green...
Nope. Don't and will never like the Grapes. Won't root against them. Will never root for them. I used to have a reason to root for their defense. That reason now Rebels. Coach U

Aaron Floyd has been reinstated to the Boone County Rebel Football Team
"I am happy for you Aaron and you are a good man Coach Griffith." You hired well, Boone County.

Should 19 year olds be allowed to play High School Football?
No. Go pass a class or your GED instead

Boone County 2014
Wake up people. Floyd didn't get it done last year. He was the highlighted player, the go-to player, the Wildcat in their offense and they went 0-11. When he ran the ball, he ran out of bounds scared. When he threw it, it was just as likely to go to the opponent. He was touted to be the same "go-to" player this year as a running back and DB and he quit them. HE QUIT THEM. Boone County IS a much better TEAM without Aaron Floyd's individualism.

Awesome article
I know of a Head Coach who was vilified for using a too complex counting system in his blocking scheme. They had to count to six.

Evan O'Hara - Boone County - Kicker/Punter - D1 Talent
I'm not sure of the exact history of Prokicker. I do know that Rick Sang is the person who got this whole thing started in, at least, the mid-90s. Rick Sang (with an S) played for at least one of EKU's IAA National Championship teams as a punter and I believe coached there and I'm sure he coached at Arizona State on one of their highly successful teams. Rick's dad was a highly successful high school coach in WV and Rick himself, taught, coached and was the Athletic Director for Greenwood High School in Bowling Green when they first started. I believe Prokicker grew out of Rick's company called American Football Specialists or Specialties offering equipment, camps, scouting and recruiting services. He gained an early affiliation with Ray Guy and I think ex-KC Chief kicking great Jan Stenerud had something to do with the early foundations. I've got great kicking video and long snapping videos from them from back then and still use some of those fundamental techniques today. I've had two kickers participate in his camps and I think both are still in the top ten in KY for FG distance at or over 50 yards each. Evan is as good or better than both and didn't have near the coaching that either of those two. I was blessed with two fantastic kicking coaches for those kids.

Wayne County
I was honored to open my home and share a meal quite a few years back after a game in which Coach Thompson came to scout and get extra film on an opponent. The man goes the extra mile for his kids, his team. I agree whole-heartedly; excellent post to a well deserving Coach.

Do The Beechwood Tigers Need a Change?
I've got no dog in this fight. I am a high school football coach. I sat near Coach Rash and his staff a few years ago as we all scouted Frankfort. They were scouting them for an upcoming playoff appearance. I was thoroughly impressed with their scouting. So much so that I went to the game the following week to watch them implement what I'd heard them discuss that night. Beechwood needs no change. Let the man do his job. He does it well.

50 game win streak....
Not trying to stir the pot; just curious...Who had the record when Trinity broke it and did that opponent have the opportunity to defend?

Former BG Coach Dan Haley has died
I have been blessed with hiring a person that has worked for Coach Haley and then blessed again by working for that person as well. Dan Haley's influence is awesome. His legacy and impact lives on in each kid that he's coached and in each coach that he's mentored. The title of "Coach" becomes revered because of those like Coach Dan Haley.

Josh Jaggers to Henderson County?
Ed Smart could do more for this job than anyone mentioned. Look at what he's done at Grayson County. He is the best unsung coach in this state. The Time is Now. Hey Hendo; wanna win? There's your man.

Mayfield QB David Fowler 1968-1971
WOW; Coach Fowler, and I mean Coach Adam Fowler, I've gained even more respect for YOU after reading this than I already have after watching what you've done with an Owen County program with whom I struggled while in my tenure there. I never knew your dad though I knew that you had roots in the 'hated' Mayfield Cardinal with my high school coaching roots being grounded in Graves County football. I have seen in your teams and your players at Owen County, the virtues that your dad has instilled in you. You have players, administrators, parents and fans speaking of you in Owen County, the way you speak of your father here. Congratulations, Coach. I'm guessing you've made your father proud. U

Sam Harp leaving Danville
This state would be wise to do everything possible to keep people & coaches that possess the qualities of Coach Harp.

Newport Central Catholic State Finals "deja vu"
Not to dampen the mood of this thread; #45's catch this year was his 6th per KHSAA, NCC Stats after 15 games. I was for Caldwell Co.. nuff said. Still a very neat thread.

Newport Central Catholic/Caldwell County 2A Championship Predictions
What happened to the Meyers kid, #24. Will he be able to play? Saw him early and he was tough. Think he got hurt against BW and hasn't played in playoffs according to stats. That running clock thing might be for real if he's healthy.

Bowling Green 14 John Hardin 13
Don't want to jinx anyone nor will I EVER root for the Grapes...but...JH averaged 43.46 points per game and scored 13 against Coach Griff's D. THAT's domination and the reason they had a chance for the miracle.

Conner / Grant County Predictions
Get serious. They beat us by 49 last year with their back up QB. Coach Siple definitely has GC going in the right direction. That 57-12 sounds close to right. Keeping the Frosh separate; good move. Coach Siple has done marvelous things in other places. Hope he gets it done in Dry Ridge. Kids will follow. If he builds it...they will come..."together" is the only way. Nothing and no one outstanding there. The only potential is if they all come together, commit together, SHOW UP for every practice and workout. Grant County could be a very special place. The occassional upset when they're down and big things when they're up. This senior class is extremely talented but has NO IDEA what it takes to win. It's almost a shame. Talk with EVERY ex-head coach they've had; Croley, Bowlin, Davis, Arvin(hope I didn't miss anyone) ...They each took the job because they saw the potential. Who can turn that 'potential' energy into 'kinetic' energy. Good luck, Coach Siple.

Harrison County Football
2000: 12-1 record. Guessing one of the best teams you had. Very competitive district and compare the non-district to the one you're playing this year. You had a tried and true coach and now your going with less experienced coach. Don't know him so no evaluation by me should be made. Aug 18, 00 Mercer County at Lincoln County 34 - 0 (W) no Death Valley Bowl ...AA Aug 25, 00 George Rogers Clark away 35 - 6 (W) no....AAAA ended 5-6 Sep 1 00 Harrodsburg home 54 - 12 (W) no ...1A Sep 8, 00 Open Sep 15, 00 Montgomery County away 51 - 0 (W) no (District Game) ...ended 5-6 Sep 22, 00 Franklin County home 43 - 7 (W) no (District Game) ... ended 7-4 Sep 29, 00 Western Hills away 36 - 21 (W) no (District Game) ...ended 7-5 Oct 6, 00 Grant County home 48 - 12 (W) no (District Game) ...ended 3-7 Oct 13, 00 Anderson County away 61 - 6 (W) no (District Game) ...ended 3-8 Oct 20, 00 Bourbon County home 24 - 7 (W) no (District Game) ...ended 7-4(Dudley Hilton coached) Oct 27, 00 Prestonsburg away 51 - 6 (W) no ...AA Nov 3, 00 Dixie Heights at Harrison 35 - 21 (W) no Class AAA Tournament ...Dixie ended 5-6 Nov 10, 00 Holmes home 42 - 28 (W) no Class AAA Tournament ...ended 9-3. Holmes' non-district schedule was very light. Nov 17, 00 Highlands home 7 - 45 (L) no Class AAA Tournament ...somebody's got to play them Willing to bet this was one of your toughest teams? George Rogers Clark was the only team you played up for and they were mediocre. All other non-districts were lower class. Let's look at 01 under Ray Graham. Aug 18, 01 Belfry at Pikeville 12 - 14 (L) no Pike County Bowl ...AA AND they still beat you even one of you're better teams. Aug 24, 01 Open Aug 31, 01 Cawood home 48 - 0 (W) no ...AAA ended 3-8 Sep 7, 01 Breathitt County home 28 - 6 (W) no ...AA ended 7-4 Sep 14, 01 Montgomery County home 23 - 7 (W) no ...district game...ended 5-6 Sep 21, 01 Franklin County away 28 - 14 (W) no ...district game...ended 3-7 Sep 28, 01 Western Hills home 49 - 6 (W) no ...district game ended 2-8 Oct 5, 01 Lexington Catholic away 1 - 0 (W) no (forfeit) ...is what it is Oct 12, 01 Anderson County home 21 - 6 (W) no district game...ended 2-8 Oct 19, 01 Bourbon County away 53 - 0 (W) no ...district game...ended 5-6 Oct 26, 01 East Jessamine away 22 - 18 (W) no ...AAA ended 4-7 Nov 2, 01 Covington Catholic at Harrison Co. 22 - 44 (L) no ...somebody has to play them. Please rest assured that this is in NO WAY a slam on Ray Graham. Just showing that two of his best teams...and they did beat some quality teams and were competitive with some GREAT programs in these two years; the point being though, he was smart enough to schedule better in the non-district games. Obviously; the district itself was NOT CovCAth and Highlands quality.

Aug 18, 12 Sheldon Clark home 13 - 28 (L) Click Thorobred Bowl Aug 24, 12 Belfry at Belfry/Pikeville 14 - 46 (L) Click Pike County Bowl Aug 31, 12 Scott County away 6 - 61 (L) Click Sep 7, 12 Mason County away 22 - 37 (L) Click Sep 14, 12 Bourbon County home 8 - 51 (L) Click Sep 28, 12 Highlands home 10 - 69 (L) Click Oct 5, 12 Holmes home 7:30 PM Oct 13, 12 Covington Catholic away 1:00 PM Oct 19, 12 Pendleton County away 7:00 PM Oct 26, 12 Woodford County home 7:30 PM I look at this schedule and most of the 'other 8' are pretty tough too. Sheldon Clark, 3A should be a win or competitive and it was. Belfry's only loss to a 5 or 6A Henry Clay and tougher than heck every year. Scott County; 6a and state semi-finalist &/of finalist; should not be on the schedule. Bourbon County; should be competitive but everyone knew they were tough under Poynter and going to be loaded. Should be on schedule just caught them on an upswing when you're on a down-turn. Mason County; solid year in and year out with very good coach. I like seeing them on your schedule and will be a battle most years. Highlands & CovCath; somebody's got to play them. Holmes; they've got some flyers and when they're disciplined; they are tough. Pendleton should be a W year in and year out. Look at their schedule compared to yours. Even Woodford is a 5A. With the district you've got; get out of this one. Find your local rivalry or NKY/Lexington lower level. I clicked on Warren East's schedule. They're listed 2nd in 4A on KHSAA site. No where near the schedule you guys are trying to play. Going back to see who Ray scheduled. Be back soon. Players...DON'T QUIT!!! It's worse than any drug you can take. Each time you quit it gets easier.

Owensboro 45 Lone Oak 31
Is no one else really surprised by this win by Owensboro. I'm not a Joe Prince fan though do respect. I think this is a HUGE win for him and his program after battling grief all off-season.
