Owensboro 45 Lone Oak 31

Featured Replies

I'm told that Lone Oak had five or six turnovers and had a kickoff returned for a touchdown right after they had put together a long drive to tie it in the second half.

Is no one else really surprised by this win by Owensboro. I'm not a Joe Prince fan though do respect. I think this is a HUGE win for him and his program after battling grief all off-season.

The good news for Lone Oak is that they are still in good position to get the #1 seed in a three way tie if they beat Madisonville-North Hopkins in three weeks. But yes, this is still quite surprising, especially coming off Owensboro's loss to Madisonville.

Selfishly, I'd love for Madisonville to knock off Lone Oak to put the Purple Flash down to #3. No one around here is fond of having to travel to Lone Oak.
