Boone County 2014

Featured Replies

What does Boone County need to do to improve in 2014? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

2nd year in the system. Full year of winter program. Do they have any difference makers on offense or defense?

The biggest difference will be getting those back lost to injury last year. They had 10 go out with season ending injuries including QB Jamal Lamb two weeks before the season began. He's fully rehabilitated and looked pretty good in spring ball. The Guru's son is back as well and looks great at TE. They got a transfer from Colerain who's looked good at wide out. This year, it looks as if more players are going to play both ways. There so much less uncertainty so the team can concentrate on football and that should make a huge difference alone.

I echo R91. In short, Boone will go as far as Lamb takes them assuming injuries are kept to a minimum.

Continue the culture change and great things will happen. If Boone goes 5-5 its a solid year, however it would not suprise me if Boone made a late season run and won a few playoff games either.

The culture is definitely changing.

I believe Boone will be involved in a lot of exciting games this year.

Jamar Lamb at QB, Jerry Marshall at RB, and Aaron Floyd on both sides of the ball. Boone also have several kids that can catch the football.

Agreed and NKY 6A really is wide open this year. As good as I think SK can be this year, they will struggle at times and be ripe for an upset.

They're are running a version of the spread now or so I thought. What kind are they running?

I'm really looking forward to watching little Bac at TE this year. I said it last year and stand by it this year, if he stays healthy and they get the ball to him he can be the best TE in the area, better than Dixie's TE IMO.

How will things be with Aaron Floyd leaving to Cov Cath.?

Big big loss.

Maybe some other talents will step up their game, Boone can still have a good year. I've never seen 1 player do everything, the team just needs to come together as one unit, it will be much stronger. Maybe the team will be better off without Floyd. The coaches won't be expecting one player to do all the work.

Wake up people. Floyd didn't get it done last year. He was the highlighted player, the go-to player, the Wildcat in their offense and they went 0-11. When he ran the ball, he ran out of bounds scared. When he threw it, it was just as likely to go to the opponent. He was touted to be the same "go-to" player this year as a running back and DB and he quit them. HE QUIT THEM. Boone County IS a much better TEAM without Aaron Floyd's individualism.

That is really an unfair assessment. Floyd was playing out of position, in an emergency situation, because of injury to the starting quarterback. I'm very sure Aaron did not want to, and was not prepared to play QB last season.
