Wake up people. Floyd didn't get it done last year. He was the highlighted player, the go-to player, the Wildcat in their offense and they went 0-11. When he ran the ball, he ran out of bounds scared. When he threw it, it was just as likely to go to the opponent. He was touted to be the same "go-to" player this year as a running back and DB and he quit them. HE QUIT THEM. Boone County IS a much better TEAM without Aaron Floyd's individualism.

 

While I think this is a bit harsh in the way it is said, I do believe there is a lot of truth in it. I have read much about what a talent and impact player Floyd is, but he holds no real scholarship offers to argue in favor of his possession of next-level talent abilities as a player and was not able to raise the level of Boone last year by himself. He strikes me at best as a good high school player with a nice frame and some athletic upside. But on the flip side, he is also not a guy who is going to win games for you on his own; and no, most kids aren't going to win games on their own either but I am alluding to what seems to be a lauding of this type of description of his abilities (see the transfer thread about him). In short, I think the "devastating" effect on Boone Co. of his transfer and impactful effect on Cov Cath may be being a tad overstated.

Is that a"bitter , party of 10 statement"? Aaron Floyd is a much better athlete and young man as you are touting him to be. Spoke with the young man personally a few years back and it is a fact that he has had interest in leaving BC before now. If you think this kid could not help the BC program, you're dead wrong. No matter where he lands, the team will benefit from his athleticism as would have BC. Everyone, is entitled to an opinion, but to slam a high school kid like that publicly is wrong, unless you're a high school kid yourself, and the I would understand the hard personal animosity.

Scrarch43, Hopefully your are just trying to stir the pot a little. I think I have seen post years back where you said you are a high school coach. Hopefully that is not true, because that would make your post even worse bashing a kid. As you know, Boone was in the first season of a new coach who really didn't get a chance to know his players. They had a lot of injuries and IMO a year with not a lot of strong talent. Floyd was the best option they had at QB. I'm sure he didn't want the position, but he did it for his team. I bet he would of loved to have all the hurt players healthy and playing in the positions that were best for the team. I'm sure Boone will be better this season with the Coach having a full off season getting the chance to know his players strengths and weaknesses. They will get back some of the injured players from last season. If Floyd stays. he will be in position to play where he could do the team better. Floyd will be greatly missed if he leaves and Cov Cath will gain a great athlete and even a greater kid. Maybe you don't like him because he is leaving to better himself, if so, be mad. But while Floyd was playing for Boone, no matter if it was on the football field , basketball court, or baseball diamond, he was out there playing hard with no QUIT to the end for his TEAM!!!!!
