  1. Two statements bother me... 1. The idea that this X team would blast the 06 team. That's comical. The 06 Cov Cath team manhandled a BG team that featured SEVEN D-1A offerd starters including kids that would go to the SEC and one who is now on a NFL roster. This St. X does feature a roster that exceeds that depth of high end talent. 2. The idea of how NOBODY in Ky can play with the GCL. Trinity would win the GCL 1 out of every three years. They would be just fine this year.
  2. I'm going to throw this out there...7-3 either way. I think people are vastly overestimating the ability of these two offenses to score on these two defense's.
  3. After 50+ openings, are there any Head coaching candidates left?
  4. How old are you? Greenwood lost in the State Semi's to St. X 28-6 in 2009. And it was a closer game than that score. X would go on to beat Trinity for the Championship 34-10.
  5. Regular. Season. Read the post all the way through before responding. And yes, Tilghamn has some speed, legit speed. Etown is a crying joke and if that is your comparative measure of "elite speed" then two things are abundantly clear: 1. SW hasn't seen much speed in their lives. and 2. JH is going to destroy SW. As for Louisville Central, that was a very average Louisville Central team when measured against past Central teams. As much is evident in their scores.
  6. I believe Central Hardin is Wing T...Wing T teams have not fared well against the Purples.
  7. I think JH is loaded...I just don't know if they can get over that mental hump though. The JH/SW game should be a great one for SW. It will be the first true test of elite speed SW has played in a regular season game. The closest they have come is Warren East and Russellville and neither of those brought to the table what JH will in 2015. Should be a great game.
  8. That's a bold statement from a school that has yet to get over the hump. In the early 2000's Paducah Tilghman had an unbelievable run of kids in Joe Casey, Hunter Cantwell, and a host of others. They were thought to be a lights-out almost sure-fire to win it all bet...a couple of times. They never even made it there. The 2011 JH team was a once-in-25-year'ish team and they stumbled against a BG team that was smaller and who had a superstar Soph. WR. My point being, until JH wins it, they are NEVER going to be who the title will go through. You gotta get over the hump. Until then, you're just another of many trying to see what it's like at the top.
  9. South needs to win it this year. They lost to a very average Louisville Central team that featured no marque players and middle of the road speed given what they have had in the past. South is not going to give up points, that's a given. I say for now, it's the Spartans and John Hardin to see who slaughters Johnson Central for the crown. Now after this year...:o
  10. Owensboro returns a good deal including some excellent RBs...BUT they lost two very important things: 1. An experienced Head Coach 2. Their QB ...don't be surprised to see them struggle without those two factors.
  11. I can get behind Highlands and Pulaski is loaded to the teeth, but Cov. Cath and Southwestern are not teams BG would struggle with. This ain't Cov. Cath of 2006, player or coaching wise.
  12. Dear Young and Ambitious Coaches Who Wonder If They'll Ever Get to Drive their Own Ship, Yes. You. Will. 51 openings in one year...Wow.
  13. Places that fire highly successful coaches do not normally tend to stay successful... Coaches that are highly successful and get fired tend to move on to other places where they continue to be highly successful... Ms. Lindsey will be fine.
  14. A view of St. X's progress as a program after getting rid of Glasser...
  15. We are all aware that the University of KY is a "public school" that directly or indirectly pays its faculty and coaches with what are technically public tax driven funds, right?
  16. You've clearly never been fired while being a great teacher but coaching a 3-8 team.
  17. That does not appear to be the case if you go to East's Spring Practices.... ...and the two times East and BC did play East handled them with relative ease winning 24-13 in 2011 and 35-6 in 2012. East is always going to have some real speed nowadays due to shifts in housing in the BG area. Also, it should be noted that East is about to begin the same renovations that Central is getting, which means a new field house, new stadium, and new turf field. How about for now we say East and BC are a push?
  18. I was wrong on Wagener and I'll eat that one...scratch them from the list. Add BC in their place but I believe strongly that BC could not play with either east or Central. too much speed on both those teams...but that's what makes debate fun!
  19. I'll stir the pot...my Top Ten Jobs that came OPEN in 2015 1. Owensboro...facilities, tradition, talent coming 2. Cov. Cath....facilities (in the day), tradition, there's gotta be a wave coming 3. McCracken...facilities, players (for now) 4. Glasgow...Players, tradition, winnable schedule 5. Mercer...Facilities, coaching, good area for football 6. Warren East...One of the two best sophomores in KY, and he's a RB 7. Warren Central...Talent (for now), tradition, facilities (being built), and DragonFire! 8. Waggener...Talent, easy road to semi's, some tradition 9. Marion Co....Talent, prone to having streaks of high level teams 10. M.N. Hopkins...Talent, Good pay, decent facilities Feel free to argue your revised list!
  20. Can we get the list back up again with updates...I honestly have enjoyed whatching its transformation.
  21. It is an excellent looking facility...poles or not, it affords great opportunities for off-season work that most programs are limited from doing. Say what you will, I don't think any team in KY would turn that place down.
