No way this will be JH's most talented team ever. 2011 JH looked like a Junior College team and had a REALLY bad off night. That team had multiple college level players on it. I'm not sure this coming JH team has either the size or the talent level that team did. I do think it will be JH and SW and whoever wins that will kill Johnson Central or whatever other cupcake eater comes out of the East. ...BUT let us not forget that this JH team that is returning gained a lot of praise for making a playoff run against possibly the worst first three round opponents anybody faced in any of the classes. They have a lot to prove before I start anointing them even one of the best JH teams there have been.

I'd say it's South and John Hadin in a dogfight

The Highlands folks on here have been keeping a nasty little secret all this year while telling us how good this team is (and they are REALLY good on O): This team is AWFUL on defense. -

Is Highlands this bad or are they just playing poorly? Can't tackle, can't hold on to the ball. -
Should all Cov. Cath threads include an asterisk and a footnote that says: * - All discussion and positions expressed here are strictly based on games and program success against teams not named Highlands as that despite the Highlands chairs in the office, the beat Highlands mantra, loaded in 20XX hashtags, and the general obsession with Highlands, none of it really matter when actually having to play Highlands.

Oklahoma high school football playoff controversy
Cynical replied to LRCW's topic in KY Football (High School)
The official, by letter of the law was correct in his call and wrong in the enforcement... BUT... The official failed in his DUTY...twice... (1) His job is to officiate the GAME first and handle the game environment as a secondary part of his duties, only becoming his primary duty if the actual safety of himself, the players, or the general attendance is in danger. He allowed an inconsequential game environment aspect change the outcome of what happened on the field. He based his judgment of the execution of his duties on the wrong object of emphasis of his job. ....and I don't blame him. I HATE the silly sideline overkill that the NFHS has instituted. I've been around football and high school sidelines for over 20 years and have seen ONE actual collision of significant impact between an official and a coach. Why in the heck has the NFHS elected to turn such attention away from the field and onto the sideline? It's just plain silly and leads me to say that this penalty is a failing of the NFHS as well as this offical. and (2), it is the duty of the officials to know their rules. If you're a guy who's touchy about sideline space, then you have an obligation to know the exact in's and out's of that aspect of your job. This is similar to a cop who hates people who speed but who doesn't know what the fines for speeding are. -
Other than McCracken, that's a Baaaaad list of jobs.

Then there's not a lot I can do for you.

In 4 classes, neither of these teams would be playing and this game would have never happened.

Yep. You don't like 6 classes? Go back to Ohio. Great Semis!

Get some 6 class haters!! This game. The Corbin/Central game. Get some detractors, get some! Playoffs!

BG Who???? South Warren What!!!!

BG is 1-1 in State Championship games against Highlands. I don't think either school is particularly afraid of the other. -

Or maybe he figured out the greatest truth of them all... In the grand scheme of things, it's just a job. His kids and wife are healthy and happy. After that, everything else is just icing on a cake. -
Off the top of my head... Franklin Simpson - Turf floor Allen Co. - Multipurpose Floor Barren Co. - Turf Floor Butler Co. - Turf Floor McCracken - Turf Floor Mercer - Turf Floor LaRue - Turf Floor

I cut block once on that "turf" (aka concrete covered with a thin carpet), got up, looked down at my hand and realized my ring finger was going in the wrong direction...man that stuff was hard. Also watched our FB break a 60 yard run only to be tackled by the lip of the pitcher's mound. -
McCracken County football coach Jack Haskins Retires
Cynical replied to HoopsLady's topic in KY Football (High School)
Did all the dirty work...do what? He was handed what is by far and away the nicest facility in WKY...heck, probably the nicest facility not named Trinity... ...and what did he build? A first round loser of a team with a DI-A athlete at QB and multiple college level players on the field? A single playoff win? A 1-1 record against a Class A team with a 6A school? a 1-1 record against a 3A team with a 6A team? Come on. I lauded his accomplishments of a career but given what he has had the last two years at McCracken, saying that his time there has been anything but a disappointment is avoiding the obvious.
