  1. On a hand I gotta say I agree with those that say it looks like a woman's ring. None the less, I'm sure most would love to have that ring regardless of how it looks.
  2. I'd be happy I won a ring...I'd be pretty upset if it looked like that.
  3. Coaching is coaching. There are high school coaches that could easily do the jobs of college coaches. There are middle school coaches that could easily do the jobs of high school coaches. If you have ever sat down with college coaches then you know that some are excellent and brilliant minds, but some a far from the sharpest pencils in the box.
  4. Well, that's a solid job of book-ending....
  5. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the reality of the fact that McCracken Co. HS is made up of Lone Oak, Reidland, and Heath..minus Jack Haskins...and plus Mike Rogers at PT...is about a year or two away from coming home to roost. Like him or not (and I don't like him too much), Jack Haskins changed the face of football in the county outside the walls of Tilghman. He made Heath and Lone Oak both relevant during his time at each. Without him, neither managed much more than a pulse. Now McCracken is about to experience life without Jack...and apparently his assistant coaches...and have to deal with a PT program that now has a clear vision guy leading them. I'm calling it, McCracken, despite what players they may have there right now, is headed downhill over the next couple of years.
  6. As a casual fan who had never been to the Boys Sweet 16, I went with my wife to the Friday and Sunday games. This is what it cost me: Gas: $70 - two $35 full ups Parking $20 - $10 both times Food/Concessions - $100 - We ate out both trips. Tickets - $40 - $20 for the both of us, twice So that's $230 for a weekend to watch two high school basketball games. I'm not a lawyer or doctor. That's a lick to our family finances for the monthly budget. You can count me out from here on out unless my team makes the Finals. Simply too expensive.
  7. @belfry - The stadium looks awesome and they clearly play a great brand of football @lou. Central - I hear the food alone makes the game worth going to @Bell Co. - Anywhere called Log mountain that is a notorious place to play cut out of the side of a mountain is simply too intriguing @Ashland - The pictures I have seen from the renovations make it look like a really cool place to watch a game @cov. Cath - When they play Highlands on a Fall Saturday. That sounds like about as cool as high school football can be.
  8. Lofton was third on the team for both yards and catches...would have been down one spot more had Cameron Wallace not gotten injured against Owensboro...he transferred to one of the Lexington Schools, Henry Clay or Dunbar I believe. Big athletic kid with great speed who will be a nice player for one of those teams up there.
  9. If this is meant as sarcasm, then it's a State Champion. If it's meant in the literal sense, then it's a Maroon.
  10. Jacob is Jon's younger brother. Jon, Jacob's older brother was quite the talented player and was a KY All Star in 2007. Both brothers are excellent athletes and even better young men. BG is blessed with some very talented skill players for the coming years...but in addition to many of these young men's skills, they are excellent people and students.
  11. It actually gets worse...I was wrong, Ryle was 5-7...so you lost to a one dimensional 5-7 Ryle team with An extremely limited passing game but are somehow going to beat the reigning 5A champions who return almost their whole team and a truly explosive offense? This has gotten comically delusional.
  12. Really?...The Red Dog Defense has never been a big deal?...wow, just wow.
  13. Cov Cath lost to a 6-6 Ryle team... You beat a 1-10 Boone team, an 0-11 Harrison Co., a 2-9 Holmes team, a 3-8 Conner team, and a 4-7 Geenup Co. You literally beat THREE teams that even had a winning record... You lost to a Class A team by 2 TD's...and that team didn't even make it to the Finals... Seriously, you want to keep going? Cause I can keep throwing facts against opinion all day. #loaded :ohbrother:
  14. Highlands gave up 41, 38, 49, 34, 36, & 42 last year. They were atrocious last year on Defense...without Hodge they do not win the state title...in fact, they don't play for it even. Let us also not forget Highlands up-turned nose at Collins in 2013.
  15. Should have, would have, and could have don't win arguments.
  16. First, I'm not sure how "they Cooper" last year...I do know they beat them 33-6. Second, Cov. Cath was the most overrated team there was last year...their shining moment was against a one-man-band Highlands team that doesn't believe in defense and it was still a loss. I would like to see the Pulaski v. Cov. Cath game, but, well, we all know where Cov. Cath will once again end their season...
  17. Congrats on returning half of your defense that has yet to win a big game (unless you consider beating the East's Boise State (Johnson central) a big win). Cov. Cath has surrendered quite a few points over the past two years to offenses with a pulse. Pulaski next year will be an absolute monster on O. Sorry, but Cov. Cath has given us little reason to believe they are a legit contender these past two seasons. Their wins are again hapless NKY teams (With Dixie in '14 and Beechwood in '13 as exceptions) and their losses include bludgeonings by Highlands and Moeller as well as deplorable losses in '14 to Ryle and Class A Beechwood. Pulaski returns more on both sides of the ball off a team that has won more, has better high end players, and has momentum on their side right now. For the time being, Cov. Cath. is not on Pulaski's level.
  18. Owensboro is too high...they lost a lot. Christian Co. has a monster growing in the West. They return quite a few big, very talented skill players. Pulaski's only challenger in the East is Highlands IMO. I just don't see Cov Cath or any of those others holding them under 40. Grayson was hit hard by graduation.
  19. Your research is wrong. Franklin Simpson has two State Titles. Ashland has two
  20. Collins came back to earth after learning that life without multiple DI-A skill players and 15-20 third year starters is a little tougher.
  21. So Owensboro, a job that could be argued as one of the top 15 in KY, coming off a State Runner-Up, and with what I understand to be a wealth of talent on the way, hires a 28 year old with zero Head Coaching experience, who from the looks of it has never been anywhere but Owensboro... Wow.
  22. South Warren returns something like 21 starters and all 11 guys who started their State-Semi game on D are back. 1. John Hardin 2. South Warren 3. Johnson Central 4. Franklin Simpson 5. Warren Central ...the rest of the field. What's crazy, is that three of my top five are in the same DISTRICT.
  23. Ok, that makes considerable more sense...but most jobs now a-days pay around 18% actually. A $10,000 salary for the vast majority of teachers in KY would be between 20-25%.
