Here's a question: Is Trinity the least talented team in the Super District? If they are anything but the least talented team in the Super District, outside of Manual, can we then say that their two losses to Male and their loss last night to X indicate that the superior coaching we've heard about for the past couple of years has really just been a product of superior talent? If they are the least talented team in the Super District, how have they let the other three pass them by?

Reynolds whole family has played at East...Shenard Holton, Eli Brown, Troy Brown, & LT Crackett...all have been at East, all have left with diplomas and two are going to have left with DI-A scholarships in hand...I don't see young Mr. Reynolds going anywhere.

Is this a possible drawback of being at a T or X...meaning, the fact that often QB's don't get to play till they're SR's prevents some of this natural progression from happening in say, a start of the JR year, thus preventing T and X from having really sharp QB play until later in the season when these first time SR starters have worked the kinks out? Just throwing that out there.

Beatty is a great coach WHEN HE HAS GREAT TALENT. Without it, he is a very good coach who has found a way to take a very average talent Trinity team and compete against a week-in-week-out brutal schedule. He is certainly one of the 10 best in KY, but let's face it, these last two years he's showing the warts of not having the significant advantage of overwhelming his opponents with sheer talent.

Can someone elaborate to me on how big a difference there is in the talent at T than there is at X? I heard that a lot this week. I guess X is just that much better coached which led to their ability to overcome such a talent deficit.

Male may be. Trinity is not...at least as of right now. Their loss to Ensworth, who just got destroyed by McCallie is their strength of schedule downfall right now. If Trinity wins out and takes 6A undefeated in KY, then I give them the nod to return to their throne. Until then, I rank BG, Trinity, Male, and Manual all pretty much in the same boat with Scott Co., Highlands, and St. X existing right on the edge of the conversation.

I think when you vote on this thread, you should have to list your age...I'd say you'll see it's pretty generational as to how most of us are voting. As for the calls for Frisk, and some of these others, no, they don't belong in this conversation. It's a two horse race, plain and simple. I'll cast my vote (I'm 36) to Alexander.

I would say BG has been more dominant, but I would also argue, that you would probably only find a handful of coaches who would rather play St. X than BG. The fact that a public school from a smaller city like BG (under 150K) that does not have a metro area to draw from is even in the conversation with a place like X is a testament to what a great system has been built in BG. That's from the top down, with a commitment to being excellent.

Or classier. BG would have split the last 4 against the Rocks with a blowout by T in 2011 and a blowout by BG in 2013. McCallie this year and Blackman last year are decidedly better than Trinity is/was. The only thing BG gained from not playing T during the last four years was a meaningless 2nd place winning streak.

Give me Boone at home. Boone could have won this game last year, they get it done this year.

Another interesting point for this year's game...it could be argued that when you look at comparative scores, St.X's two losses are to two teams that are better than anybody Trinity has played. I know I'll get blasted for that, but the McCallie/Ensworth score really shed some light on things and I simply don't think Trinity has played anyone as good as Moeller yet. Of course, I do openly concede that Trinity's overall strength of schedule is far superior to this point and beyond.

I don't see Trinity having the distinct talent advantage that has been so prevalent in the past. This Trinity team is pretty common talent wise. I would say X's defensive talent is equal to or greater than T's. I give the advantage on O to Trinity, but not by near the margins of the past.

With all the elusive, sneaky, and mysterious tactics, some even so dirty as not showing up to the game, how bad do you think the article in the Mountain Advocate will be when Knox Central plays Open?

Easy is bi-polar right now. If the right East team shows up, I'll take my Raiders 35-21...if the wrong one shows up, the Cats roll 35-7...and yeah, it's that wide a margin of difference. ...and East is far from a one-man show...the FR may be a bigger prospect in the end than his older cousin Eli.

Open will screw you on the film trade...just a heads up.

No argument, I didn't see the game. But after the coaching change, the loss to Collins, the blowout by Trinity in the scrimmage, the close score against CC and some of the scores I've seen out of the West, I'm just going to take the stance that 4A is not a foregone conclusion as that I just don't believe that Highlands is the road grading monster it was a few years back. I DO believe that they are still top dog for now...just not an untouchable top dog.

Against Open, most coaches opt to just focus on "ourselves" as a precautionary measure to shield their players from the daunting unknowns of playing Open.
