If Cov Cath is the #2 team in 4a, what does it say about the state of 4A football? Appears to me it's Highlands and a handfull of so, so football teams. Good thing it's a down year for the Blubirds, huh?

I'm not sure Owensboro and Mad. N. Hopkins aren't #2 and #3 in 4A now...Cov. Cath appears to not be quite what we all thought they were.

Maybe Boyle and J.Central from the east will give the Birds a decent game, but, chances are, they won't.

Why does CCH automatically get 2 in the state in 4A?

I thought they may have a shot this year but clearly they aren't as good as I thought.

As I've said for years on here, they need to win something first before getting the credit many give them.

Interesting to hear YOU say that.

In fairness to CC, they have been dominant against all instate teams not named Highlands. I think they deserved the #2 ranking. Just not sure if thats an indictment on the rest of 4a football or just that Highlands is at a whole different level and just that good.. Maybe a little of both. Things like this makes me long for the days when we only had 4 classes..

I'm not so sure this holds totally true...Boone gave Cov. Cath all they wanted for a half and we all kind of just said it was Boone playing well and Cov. Cath playing sloppy...but it now appears that it may have been Boone playing well and Cov. Cath just not being nearly as good as advertised...the rest of Cov. Cath's schedule is as average as it gets and the two real opponents they have played have crushed them.

I wouldn't knock them out of the top 5 as that they're still probably a solid team, but I do think that much like Collins did last year, Owensboro or Mad North Hopkins could sneak up on the East's winner and catch them with a hay maker in a one-game-shot at the championship.

Highlands game against Campbell Co. is concerning for their argument of invincibility against the rest of 4A. You would be hard pressed to convince me Campbell is better than Boyle, Johnson Central, Obro, or Mad. N. Hopkins...that said, I would wage most of my $100 on the Bluebirds if it came down to it.

You may want to change the bold to "for a quarter". CCH dominated the second quarter to have a 39-6 lead when the game was called at half.

"Is 4A a foregone conclusion?" Sure it is, just like last year. That's why they play the game.

Yep, almost the identical conversations and Collins said "nah nah nah baby!"
