Well once again Highlands is God because they beat CC. Only ones who thought CC was #2 is the N. KY group. I not sure they are top 6. Bunch of interesting scores in 4A last night. Boyle still #1 in my book. Owensboro 2 HHS 3.

Love it when haters just hates on programs that wins consistently year in and year out. Keep doing what your doing FT Highlands, Cov Cath, Lex Cath, Boyle Co. and that is WIN. I dig on programs that goes deep in the playoffs every year. Unlike some programs who thinks that this is " Their Year ". and we all know who those teams and programs are... And all those teams ends up folding when the meet up with the above teams mentioned.

Yes, it's over. Rack 'em up. I'll be cheering for Boyle county to get runner up but no one is competing with Highlands.

 

Boyle County can't be the runner up. Both FT Highlands and Boyle Co are on the east side of the bracket. Some week west sider unfortunately will become # 2 to FT Highlands.

For those that were not at that game last nite all I can say is WOW!!! on the Defensive play for Highlands.

 

I made a comment to my brothers last night and I am not 100% sure and it could be just speculation but that was one of the larger crowds in quite some time last night in Ft Thomas.

 

However, my thoughts on the size of that crowd may have been because the people were not there to see a great game or to see a very good football team picking up steam but simply there just to see Highlands lose, plain and simple.:thumb:

 

I think between those folks and the hopeful CovCath fans a whole bunch of people went away very, very disappointed...Just sayin

I'd love to see Boyle come in for the semi finals should Highlands get there. I always root for Boyle against Lexcath. Especially after some of the antics I saw out of a Lexcath lineman at Highlands 2 years ago.

 

Unfortunately Boss that has not happened in 3 season. Perhaps this year. Boyle Co is slightly better than Lex Cath, but then again they were last season, but got beat by Mercer Co and Lex cath put into Mercer thus 3rd year in a row in the state semi's for FTH and Lex Cath.

Highlands will be a very tough out this yr if they play the way they did last nite and to be quite honest, they were not perfect as they still have to clean some things up...:thumb:

After the Highlands/CCH score one would have to think so. Sometimes I wonder just how much of CCH's struggles against Highlands are just a mental road block. I know Highlands has superior athletes and Prestonsburgcoaching. But watching CCH last year and hearing they returned lots of there impact players from last season it's just hard for me to believe HHS is that much better. I haven't gotten to watch highlands in a few years so my assumption is just that. On the west side of the bracket I look for Owensboro to come out as the representative and feel confident that 3 maybe even 4 teams could take them. Highlands most certainly set themselves apart from the rest of its class with the way they dominated CCH Friday night

I know the PHM is restless with the outcome of Fridays game but how will the Mountain Men react if CovCath beats JC in Johnsonville again this yr.?

 

Does JC folk watch intensely to this score and use the score as a barometer for their matchup with CovCath? what is their reaction when they see this outcome?

Possibly. Their win against Dixie Heights would suggest otherwise but their last three games bring that idea to question. Idk if they are team from last year but if they are, then I would put them at 2 or possible 3 with Boyle Co at 2. Highlands has shown they are IMO the clear cut favorite to this point.

I'm not so sure this holds totally true...Boone gave Cov. Cath all they wanted for a half and we all kind of just said it was Boone playing well and Cov. Cath playing sloppy...but it now appears that it may have been Boone playing well and Cov. Cath just not being nearly as good as advertised...the rest of Cov. Cath's schedule is as average as it gets and the two real opponents they have played have crushed them.

 

I wouldn't knock them out of the top 5 as that they're still probably a solid team, but I do think that much like Collins did last year, Owensboro or Mad North Hopkins could sneak up on the East's winner and catch them with a hay maker in a one-game-shot at the championship.

 

Highlands game against Campbell Co. is concerning for their argument of invincibility against the rest of 4A. You would be hard pressed to convince me Campbell is better than Boyle, Johnson Central, Obro, or Mad. N. Hopkins...that said, I would wage most of my $100 on the Bluebirds if it came down to it.

 

Boone didn't give CCH all they could handle for a half!!!! Boone ayes good the 1st qtr and then CCH took Boone to the woodshed the e tire 2nd qtr and were up something like 5 TD's or more by halftime. Then they called the game which was good for Boone or they would have been staring down triple digit deficit.

I personally watch for this matchup just as a fan of good football. It's no secret these are usually the top 2 teams in Class 4A. Do I use the score as a barometer of how JC would matchup against CC? I think we all use score comparison as a gauge of how teams matchup against one another. But I also look at SOS, offensive and defensive strengths, home or away, etc. I expected CCH to keep this years matchup closer. I'm not sure if that says more about Highlands dominance over this class again or more about CCH possibly being overrated. Only time will tell. That's how this Mountain Man reacts to these things 'er city bouy.:thumb:
